88 LX 5.0 running rich

My dad has an 88 LX 5.0 that seems to run rich. It smells really gassy at an idle. It has a GT40 intake, MAF conversion,E303 cam BBK shorties and cai. Is there a way to tune these older 5.0 other than goin to a dyno shop. We cleaned the MAF meter but no change. Thanks guys.

Does it run kinda sluggish? And does he have cats on the exhaust? Changing 02 sensors should work. They could be really funky and not reading the oxygen levels correctly causing it to burn rich.

I believe the cats are gone. It's not really sluggish in my opinion. Ill double check though on the cats and suggest the o2 sensors to him. I have a video of it running but nit sure how to post it.

There could be a plus symbol somewhere to add attachments. On the phone its to the left of the reply. That could be the problem, my buddy has a 94 cobra and his did the same, smelled like gas in the car and ran like crap. Changed the 02 sensors and and did a complete tune up before and after the o2 sensors.

Btw if you get 02 sensors don't buy bosch. There for foreign cars and our cars and many American ones don't like it. Lol I learned that the hardway

I see the icon to add images but it doesn't offer my videos as an option.
