I just got a email back from Latemodel and he said trickflow has increased the price on all manifolds but he doesn't know the reason of why the jump in price.

But I know I'm not spending that much on just a street manifold, time to look for a gt40 intake!

The street heat is a waste of money. The best "street" intake for a 302 is a ported GT40. If you are looking for a great higher RPM intake just get an Edelbrock Performer RPM II.

I planned on buying h/c/i all at the same time, I was going with trickflow 170 heads, stage 1 cam, and the street intake manifold but now that the price is raised I'm gonna shop around for a different intake

Look into a Holley or RPMII and skip that stage one and spend a couple of bucks more and get a custom cam from Ed Curtis. You will be happy that you did. He will sell you a top end kit that will work great together.

TFS heads, Ed Curtis or Buddy Rawls custom cam, GT40/Explorer/Cobra intake with the lower ported by Tom Moss. Stock the lower intake flows 200 cfm, once tmoss ports it you'll see 240-250cfm. TW heads flow 256cfm at max lift so its a perfect match and does not lose any torque down low.

Been there, done that. This combo will net you 310-325 to the wheels. Now... if you were to take a stock 5.0 setup and supercharge it you'll probably be into it for the same $$$ and at 400hp.

I received a return email from Trickflow, I asked them about the price increase on the intake manifolds. This is what they said.

Response Via Email (Harold)06/09/2014 10:04 AM Hello,

We've held off on the price increase as long as we could. Unfortunately, the price of castings, tooling upkeep, machine time and labor increases, drive the cost up. We try our best to make the best quality of product and keep it affordable.

Thanks,
Harold

If you want a CRAZY price increase check out aluminum driveshafts. I bought one for $150 new 10 years ago. They are what $300 now?
