Heater core line

I no longer have a heater core and I want to delete the line that runs to it but there's just one problem, there's a sensor and a hose running to it. Does anybody know what that sensor is and will it be ok the cap off the hose that runs from the water pump?

Sounds like you're talking about (ECT) Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
You can get a NPT reducer at Home Depot that is 1/2" to 3/8".. Screw the reducer into where the heater tube use to be and then screw the sensor into the reducer.

Then cap off the line from the water pump to the old sensor.

Now would be a great time to add an aftermarket sensor as well. If you don't want a dead gauge in your cluster you can get a F-150 filler neck that has a water temp sensor port in it and stick the stocker in there so they both work.
