All you can really do is make it louder...but I wouldn't as it's a 4 cylinder & you're not going to get a nice deep rumble out of it. Only way it might sound good is with straight pipes. No cats or mufflers. Not even sure that will work. It was tuff just getting my V6 to sound decent.
But if you really want it to sound more aggressive you'll have to re-do the exhaust with larger pipe like 2.5"-3" pipe, use 2- cats instead of 4 & some decent mufflers.
Go on U-Tube & you can listen to other different 2.3's kinds of exhaust & see what you like.
Then you'll know which way to go.

good advice

yea, in my truck i had a 305 with 3 inch pipes, they were x duel exaust, im trying to get the same sound. reaserched all last night looks like maybe putting a 5.0 in or just better intake, and good exaust will work. but my buddy said to put a 3.8 out of a gt in it. so many possibilities lol

3.8's are just regular Base V-6 Mustangs. The GT's had 5.0's till 1996 & then went to 4.6's & now they're using 5.0's & 5.7's .
Any chance you live in the Phoenix area? I'll be swapping out my stock 302 / 5.0 Motor after I go through emissions & I'll be selling the stock motor for about $200. Nothing wrong with it.
Just had a motor built that's more powerful. Only selling the motor dirt cheap to sell it fast as I live in an apt. & No place to store it. If I had a garage I'd keep it.
