Post In need some help identifying whats in this stang!

Hello everyone! You might remember me (I've been gone off here for some time!) Sold my mustang for my '03 Sport Trac which I LOVE! Anyways, my best friends father recently got a SICK deal on a 1993 GT that is sexy! It has a little over 20k Miles. We really don't know all that much about the mustang so we are looking for your professional help in Identifying the aftermarket parts in the mustang!

1. Well for starters it is supercharged and we both know it is a 302 motor. But it has a cobra upper intake (It's stamped Cobra). Vin and title is for a GT. The previous owner stated it had a Cobra upper and lower, he did not specify if he meant intakes or motor... Any suggestions about checking that?

2. Next, does 1993 come with a factory sun roof? I didn't think so but I am not a pro at this model year!

3. Did the 1993 Mustang GT's come with drum real brakes or disks? I thought drums but this mustang has drilled and slotted (Obviously upgraded) rotors.

4. Inside the car has a knob for retarding the timing. I understand that is used for the supercharger but how does that concept work? We havn't touched it since we don't understand the feature.

Well its loud and fast as all hell. Burns the 315's on the back no problem. Its a sweet looking car as I am sure you will agree! Heres a photo!

Well I do have a lot of questions as you can see! But we really want to check out more on this stang! Thanks everyone!

I realized I misspoke here, it is a 1994 GT Mustang NOT a fox body!

1. For the intake, does it have a bend where the throttle body attaches or a separate part that bolts on to the intake? If the bend is part if the intake it is most likely a true 94/95 cobra intake.
2. 94/95s did have a sun roof option
3. They did have disks in the back from the factory... So it could have just upgraded rotors. Do the fronts look like 13" rotors... They could be upgraded to cobra spec. Stock gt was 11" rotors up front.
4. Not sure on the timing adjuster... It could just be a knob that selects a different tune for an aftermarket chip... Which it most likely has with the supercharger. I am fairly positive the only way to actually adjust the motor's timing is manually with a timing light.

1 - "Upper and lower" meant the upper and lower intake. It likely is a stock longblock with a Cobra intake on it.

2 - There was NO factory sunroof option but I believe you could have the dealer do it when you bought the car new. There are also aftermarket kits which it might be.

3 - All 94-up cars had disc brakes all the way around. Cobras had bigger rear rotors and dual piston calipers/13" rotors up front. In 1999 the GTs got dual piston front calipers but the rotors stayed the same size on the GT. Cobra/Mach/Bullitt brakes are all damn near identical.

4 - That's a remote timing controller if you are describing it right. I dunno, if it is supercharged the first thing I would do is take it to a good local dyno tuner and have them go through it because you have no idea what sort of tune was loaded prior unless the previous owner gave you that info. A good tune is not going to need the driver to mess with anything in the cockpit honestly...

Seems I was wrong on the sunroof comment above... Sorry to spread bad info. I have just seen some 94-98 mustangs with sunroofs... So I assumed it was a factory option.
