When you purchase it they send you an email sheet to fill out with what mods you have then they make the chip for you and you install it with the tune on it already, so no need to take it somewhere to get it tuned.

Yeah but what do you have that warrants a chip?

Also if you have heads or a cam or a stroker then a mail order tune will not cut it.

You have an E cam, they will not tune for that. Custom dyno tune is what you are going to need although don't be surprised if you don't see more than 220-230 to the wheels. As I said in a previous thread you made, putting any cam in with the stock heads is not going to boost your power whatsoever.

Putting a cam with stock heads is not worth the time or the gaskets.

I told him that before he did it. I also tell a lot of ppl that on different forums. Apparently I don't know what I'm talking about or ppl like wasting money or both.

He also would not have to spend the $500-$600 on a custom tune if he had kept the stock cam and had better driveability and stock gas mileage too.

You know what they say about leading a horse to water......

Many people think the noise is cool and that it means power. Little do they know it slapping a cam in is not just a simple bolt on affair. Plus it is the brain of the combo and should be the last piece to the puzzle.

I hear you little guy so then take your time and do research, read and read some more. Hit the track and talk to people and see what they run and see how it performs. You can not mod your stang all in one day so just get a game plan and stick to it.

Start looking for used heads on CL, The Corral and places like that.

Understood but my take on this when I was that age is there is a lot of other stuff to do with that money for a cam install/tune when there is 0 gain except sound. The stock cam performs better with stock heads than the E cam does and that is a proven fact. I mean if you like it fine, but I would have put that $$$ into suspension work or wheels/tires or even cosmetics.

Like I always say just one random person on the internets' opinion.
