94-95 Blacked Out Tail lights ?

Hey Motor heads,
Have any of you guys tried to Black Out your Stock 94-95 Horizontal Tail Lights? If so..., You got any tips for me ? As far as I can see the Bezel around the Lens is not removable. My lights were pretty Oxidized & Glazed so I started my sanding with 500 Grit & then 1000, then 1200, then 2000 & last 2500 Grit. No more Oxidation. I actually sanded the Bezels too as I'm painting them "Satin Black".
This is where I'm not sure which is the best way to go. Paint the Bezels 1st ? or Paint the Lenses 1st ? The Bezels get "Satin Clear Coat" & the Lenses get "Hi-Gloss"
so this is a bit tricky since the Bezels don't come off. Or do they ???

I personally think this is the best way to do it. Just get some precut tint and install it yourself. Painting could come out uneven or be too dark. With this if you really don't like it you can rip it off.

I tried the pre-cut stuff on my 04. Lasted a couple months & started coming off.
Figured I'd try Nite Shades this time. I already sanded & have the stuff for painting them so more or less just looking for tips on it from people who tried this.
Even if it came out like crap...tell me what happened so I don't make the same mistake.
Going to let the Fresh Paint on the Bezels dry for about a week. Next weekend I'll do the lenses I guess. Looks easier to tape around the Bezels to do the lenses.
Your Lights Look Real Good Though !!!

Thanks man this is like a vinyl that you apply with a heat gun and has been on there for two years with no problems.

I used plastidip on mine. Makes it easy if you mess up because you can rub it off and try again. I just cleaned them with alcohol, masked them the best i could (gets cleaned up later) Sprayed them, unmasked them, got most of the over spray off with my finger but be careful. Then i used a toothpick to get it off the inside cracks (couldnt find anything else) and i left it matte and it turned out good in my opinion. Kind of a PITA but worth it. You could put clear coat or glossifier over it if you want shine.

Both Results look pretty darn good to me. I'm just a little worried that since I'm painting the Bezel Area 1st that it might peel off when I tape it to do the Lenses. I'm going to let them sit for a week & then maybe wax the bezel area or something to make sure the paint don't come off.

I found out why 94-95 Mustang Tail Light Bezels can't be removed. There is NO BEZEL !!!
It's all one piece of reflective red plastic & they painted it to look like a bezel.
Sanded a little far I guess...lol.

Yeah i was going to post here but you already found out. There is no bezel its all one piece and they paint in between the "lenses".

You can always convert it to 96-98 vertical lights if you wanted but, IMO, the horizontal lights let everyone know you have a 5.0 in there.

I agree on the lights. I don't like the 96-98 lights. Only way I'd use them is if I was doing sequentials & no plans for that on this car. I just hope my paint job comes out ok.
Hard to tell till I pull the tape off the lenses but I still have to Satin Clear Coat the Bezel Area before I get to see how it looks. Took a couple pics of how bad the lights did look so if they come out nice I may post before & after pics.

Just Gotta Say.... The lights look GREAT so far !!! Still gotta 2500 Grit the lenses now that they're all painted & clear coated & buff them out. Post pics around the beginning of the week.
