i recently got into a pushrod motor, having had a few modulars this is all new to me, this thing has no power what so ever, the guy i got it from had it sitting for 2 years so i tuned up the car new plugs and wires but when i get on it its like the car falls flat on its face, when i ease into the higher rpms the car feels like it responds alot better except when i get to aboud 4000-5000 rpm it has a real bad vibrations any one have any idea of whats going on?

Sounds like an Air / Fuel Ratio problem. Did you clean your MAF Sensor ? I'd try that before anything else. I'm not sure what the vibrations are as you kind of got to get a feel where it's coming from. The Motor, Tranny, Rear End ? Did you check the Rubber Ring in your Harmonic Balancer to make sure it's not slipping out anywhere ? That can cause the Vibration. A Vacumm Line off somewhere could cause it. I'm thinking if the car sat 2 years the Rubber in the Balancer is probably dry rotted & cracked.
What year car is it ?

It's a 94. But when my buddy had it he couldn't get it to run right either. I haven't really checked out the rubber but I see where that could be a possibility. I haven't checked the mass air either. He did put a distributor in it a while back. If I don't figure it out I guess it's not a big deal I can start saving to build a stroker I have sittin in the garage

Mine's a 94 also. When I first got it, it didn't run real good either. I'd clean that MAF Sensor & Air Filter for sure. I'll bet you notice a big difference. I use paint thinner to clean mine. Just pour a little in a small cap & let the wires soak in it for a couple hours.
Then wipe it off gently with a Q-Tip & rubbing alcohol & re-install it. Don't worry...Paint thinner doesn't melt plastic.
