Cobra manifold bolts

Ok I recently bought a cobra upper and lower and when I get to the last part as in finishing the things it needs 6 bolts on top the short ones fit just fine the outer bolts fit the ones from the stock 5.0 manifold and it the 2 really long bolts in the middle by the cobra sign I cannot find them anywhere so I went to tractor supply and bought some long bolts all thread that everyone said will work and I got home meauserd them cut them put them on torked the first one no problem torked the second one the dam thing breaks off so now I have to take everything back off and start over can someone please help me out where to find some bolts if you have put the cobra upper and lower on before what did you do apparently the bolts like to break in there thanks.

The bolts are 5/16 18 x 7(I think it has been a while) but you can source these locally at your local supply house.

If you go to fordparts.com and use the part #M-6002-A50 it should come up as GT40 bolts.

I still have the long bolts that came with the M-6002-A50 (GT40 Manifold Bolt Kit) and just went out and measured the length of the long bolts. They measure 6 Inches in total length.Thread pitch is as stated above 5/16-18

The GT40 Manifold Bolts kits consists of :
4 corner bolts are 5/16 x 1 5/8 and the 2 middle bolts are 5/16 x 6
Size and Thread pitch 5/16-18 in.

The bolt is to long you bottomed out before it ever got tight enough to torque it properly.

Good information but I meauserd the bolt till it got tight with my fingers and then I tightend it and I dont think the middle bolts are size 6 because the other bolts are size 6 and dont fit inside the the middle

Just Google "Nuts & Bolts" & stores in your area should pop up. Look for a Supply House & they will have what you need. In my area we have a place called "Copperstate Nut & Bolt Supply".
Buy Grade 8 & they wont break so easy.

You could always go to the junkyard & take the bolts off an Explorer or Mountaineer.

So how did you solve your dilema?

And remember that supply house are way better than HD or Lowes.

This could be your problem, if the rubber hose is hooked up to a coolant hose and not a vacuum hose then your sucking coolant into the intake and more than likely the reason your seeing that creamy oil.

You might want to check and see how you have the hoses ran then!
