It'll last but you won't have any overdrive at all and you might hate life manually shifting after awhile. You'll pay more converting to an auto than you would for the A5 in the end.

C4 on the street sucks.......No overdrive.

Either way your looking at a 3k investment in transmission whichever road you go down plus little hidden gremlins that always appear. And I mean always.

No gremlins with the A5, it is a DIRECT bolt in and really direct. Not 99% direct or some "gotcha" like the damn 3650 swap I just did lol.

No gremlins that way I was just saying that stupid things come up like new bolts, then you realize your clutch cable is shot, new clutch is also part of the equation, fluid and the list goes on. When I did my build it started life as a simple HCI swap only to find out the cam bearings were shot. Then it took on the life of a stroker and 2 years later is when it was running. In between a full rebuild of the rear end with 31 spline and Eaton trutrac and welding the tubes, rebuild of the TKO which I am still not happy, tubular k member, motor blah blah blah blah. It all adds up really quick.

The price of quality is steep up front, but saves you time/money/blood/sweat/tears in the long run. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Do it right the first time and be done with it.
