Body parts

Ive been looking at the fenders from cjponyparts that has the holes already in them and the lower spat panels but they say not for use with 79-90 fenders, whats the deal here?

My car is an 89 and has the lower spat panels but i dont see an option for 79-90 lower spat panels.

They changes the fender style a little bit. 91-93 are different.

Body parts

What's the difference though? My other car I used to have (90) looked exactly the same as my buddies 92

So apparently the wheel openings are slightly larger and the moldings are slightly different on them
Because of that. Guess ill order another 91-93 passenger fender and new moldings for them along with the lower spat panels

91-93 were wider for sure. You can bolt them up with the 91-93 splashguards and moldings. Allows for slightly wider selection of wheels/tires as well.

Now if I could just find a full replacement quarter panel instead of just the skin I would be set

Fenders and cover are coming tomorrow but I'm in need of a driverside quarter panel, sucks al I can find are the patch quarter panels not the full replacement up into the sail panel.

It'll get the job done but there's going to be quite a bit of filler in the quarter.

The replacement quarter panels are more difficult to find than the "bolt-on" parts but they do exist. Ford may still have them available.
I just went through this, searching for one for my 01.
You need to search for companies that specialize in selling replacement body panels to body shops. Or ask a body shop who their supplier is for body panels.

Well I tried a pace called shermanparts in michigan in which one person told me they sold full replacement but it was a special order item, last time I called to get dimensions and info the woman said they don't have any in stock and couldn't tell me anything about it and couldn't even get an ETA even if they did order it.

So I'm thinking I may be SOL on the full replacement, my buddy that's doing the body work wants no used parts which is killing me because I can't find a new full replacement only the skin and I've found one full used cut out on eBay a few hours away and hey cut it big enough to trim where you wanted in order to make it for however you want.

I've tried multiple searches with no end result. I guess I could try a ford dealership but I'm willing to bet they will say it's discontinued and the body shops will more than likely say skins only.

Mustangs unlimited.com only sells the vert complete replacement panel, can't believe you can get a vert or hatch but not a notch panel lol.

I'd tell your buddy "look dude, there ARE no used parts but I can get you a straight, rust free piece off a donor car". No competent body worker is going to have a real issue with this. You have to work with what you got sometimes...

If he wasn't basically doing the work for free I would but since he's not charging me I kind of don't have a say lol
