That is what we call ball and socket. That end you are picturing is the ball of the socket, the other end that mates to is concaved and is referenced as a socket. and should have a matching slider that you run the 2 bolts thru and tighten then to make a joint.

With this being said, that picture you posted must be the h-pipe or x-pipe? Am I right or what is that you pictured. A full picture of that part would be nice.

What we were talking to you about especially Scotty was the the flow tubes to connect to your h or x pipe to your mufflers. It basically are extensions to join your mufflers to the h or x pipe, and then you run the rear tailpipes out the back over the rearend.

Basically all you need is the flo tubes mentioned previous and some band clamps, I am assuming that you are running dump tips where the exhaust stops before the rearend with turn down tips. Am I correct?

If it were me, I would go back and get my tailpipes. That dude most likely is holding onto them for a sale to another customer or for one of their own employee cars. And I would never go back to that shop ever again. I would still go back and have them fix the screw up of a job they did.

What he should have done is jack up the car in the driveway and do it himself. At least IMO. The fox doesn't even have that stupid passenger flange to deal with that the 96-04 cars do.

Don't let it get u down. A mistake that can b fixed, whenever you get the time have them fix what they screwed up, watch some videos from latemodelrestoration they usually help me, and it'll start to give u a visual idea of what to do.

If you're going to do that you might as well leave it like it is and do it right when you can afford to. Honestly if you can't afford the $50 for the flow tubes you might want to re-think having a fox Mustang and I'm not trying to be an *** by saying that. The way yours looks right now I bet you could sell it for more than you paid for it and get a nice DD while you save your $$. I've been there and done that being car poor and its completely not worth it when you have no $$ to go out and do anything.

Just keep one thing in mind. Welding systems together is not a bad thing, it sure as hell prevents alot of leak issues. But, if you have to do underbody work such as a transmission, or the like, you are going to have one hell of a time do it as you can not tear the exhaust apart into sections to get the trans out. So you end up cutting your exhaust in certain areas for you to get the trans out.

I already have an idea why they did such a bad job. I got some bootlet flow tubes so ima reuse them and it will sound better with the xpipe

If you said something with 6 letters and it bleeped out and the second word is rigged... I can imagine what it was and that sort of thing is not cool and won't be tolerated honestly.

Your exhaust manifolds (headers) are bolted into your engine. One side of your x pipe should be bolted onto the two exhaust manifolds. Your catback should bolt onto the other side of your x pipe. Your muffler go on the catback not the x pipe. If you buy an aftermarket catback, you should not have to weld mufflers in their because they will have already been welded on from the factory. So you just bolt on the cat back I I your x pipe. When people weld mufflers is like if you have a rusty or crappy muffler and they cut the muffler off on both sides and weld in a new muffler where the old one was.

Hope this clears things up Kyle

Cool, as long as you like the tone. Have you road tested it yet to see if there is too much interior drone, or at higher RPM's that it is to loud?
