Ugly quarter windows

Hello everyone Im new to this forum and I need some info and help. I have a 91 GT with those infamous ugly quarter window seals. I know they can be replaced for a pretty penny but I have a question first. The current windows have "GT" etched into them (fairly large about 3x4) along with the normal mustang. I have never seen these before, so is this something that was an option or do you think someone did it them selves. They have an almost 3-D effect to them and are perfectly placed on both windows. I need to decide if I should get rid of them or try those covers that are sold to cover the rubber part. Any opinions?

Welcome to the forum, you will be shocked with all the good down to earth people on here and all the good info you can get anywhere. Plenty on here for you to read and learn from.

GT was not an option or stock on the windows, MUSTANG was the only lettering on the window. So someone must of had that done.

Welcome and unfortunately the trim can not be replaced as it is part of the glass. There are some options as I have painted them with SEM trim paint. Sand and prime a few times to get it nice, smooth and even. Throw a few coats of paint and bam it will look 90% to 95% better. Or you could get new glass.......see below.
