4.6 swap

So I have a 1983 mustang gt with no engine or trans, I recently came into contact with a retired 2006 ford police interceptor with a 4.6, thought it would be the perfect match if i could get the engine for cheap enough. My question is, would it work? Also what do i need to complete the swap? I always just planned to put a 5.0 in it so i haven't really done any research on this swap. Do people put the 4.6 in foxbodies? Would i be enraging the mustang gods?

Anything can be done but it is worth it no. 83 was a carb car so basically everything needs to be swapped over. It would be easier to put a carbed 5.0 in it or a wrecked efi 5.0

I don't think the gods care, as long as you don't mix bread, I know a guy with a notch, that has a CARBED 4.6 in it.

It would be alot of work. You'd basically need everything off the vic as far as the drive train is concerned. You'd also have to get a tubular k member, also i would rebuild or swap in a newer 8.8 (with posi trac), hope you're good at electonics, and have alot of time and patience. It's a cool idea, but unless you've got the time and money, it's not really worth it IMO.

To do a modfox your best bet for cheap is to find a wrecked 96-98 GT, swap the ENTIRE motor/trans/harness/fuel/everything and it will fire right up like stock. While you are at it, PI swap the 96-98 motor, do some weight reduction, longtubes while the motor is out etc... etc... You'll be looking at roughly 290-300 crank hp with that setup and a good tune.

Donor car will make it a simple swap from car to car process, I would not even think of doing it without a donor car.
