Probably the B-cam but it's going to be just for sound on stock heads.

That's a good cam too but unless you have 1.7 rockers to create a bigger lift the Ecam in a stock motor will have a slight lope to it compared to a lot of other cams

Comp cams makes a nice stock upgrade and i agree with the b cam but since you have an auto with no stall the e cam will suit your car better

Stock car......stock cam. The heads and intake are way bigger restrictions than the stock cam plus it's a big job just to swap a cam.

What is a good head to run with the comp cam extreme270. Got told it was a great cam. Thinking about doing it with some new heads too. What would be the best combination for that cam? Any ideas. Thanks.

Edelbrock street heads or trickflow.

AFR and TRICKFLOW will give you more airflow. Everyone runs trickflow because running those heads with one of their cams or a pretty big cam with their intakes and a tune you get a pretty big jump in power also the main reason I got them is because down the road you can use them on a bigger motor and the trickflow heads you can massively port for a bigger motor where as the GT40x heads and AFR you won't be able to port as much. AFR is extremely good also but there's a reason you see trickflow heads everywhere.

Would you have a part number for those heads? I'll check them out later when I have time. Thanks.

Stock block should= cheapest HCI you can do such as a JY iron GT40 or just freshen the stock heads. Cheap used TFS1 cam (or just leave the stocker in), fuel system, suspension and a supercharger.

You'll spend less supercharging than you will doing a HCI, make more power, retain stock street manners, get 20+mpg on the highway etc...

Been there, done that, if I ever get another 5.0 pushrod it will be another 94/95 Cobra and it will get the basic bolt on treatment and then a S trim turned to 450whp. There is 0 way in hell I'd ever do another HCI again.

To the flywheel it will be close. To the wheels you are going to be limited to about 400 with a safe boost number from the Vortech. I mean you should be doing springs and a valvejob to old stock E7 heads anyway so I'd suggest trying to find a set of non "P" GT40s from the junkyard and getting them cleaned up and install those. That'll drop another 40whp by itself over the stockers even in NA form.

With the TFS1 cam added to the mix, will that give me the extra 50hp?

Not with stock heads no. The heads and intake are the bottleneck on the pushrod 5.0 motor. The stock cam is actually pretty good.
