Battery relocation tips

I want to move my battery to the trunk to have a cleaner engine bay. I've done this before on my last gt but had to put back because it was too weak when I went to start the car, probably because of voltage drop. I used a long battery cable (don't know what gauge it was).
So what I'm asking is for those who have done this successfully, what gauge wire did you use and what else did you do in order to get this done.

89 gt
5.0 roller bored .20 over
Sealed power Pistons
Vortec v3 11psi
Gt40 heads
Bbk 5001 intake
3.73 gears
Custom exhaust system

The kit I used the last time I did one was a Summit kit that came with 1 gauge wires. Never had an issue.

Just because I give you advice, doesn't mean I know more than you. Its just means I've done more stupid ****.
