Vortec supercharger oil alternatives

So I've finally dropped in the engine I've been building over 5 months and I'm now ready to start test driving and breaking it in. I have a vortec v3 "self contained" supercharger and I need to change the oil in it. I see that they have the oil for it online but need to know if I can find it in person or are there any other kinds of lubricant that I can use for it. Thanks.

I would be concerned about stuff like aeration, foaming, etc with all that spinning and whipping around. I would contact some oil companies like Royal Purple, Amsoil and the like and see what they say.

Will do, thanks man. I just don't want to wait 2 weeks to finally receive the oil. But I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to if I can't find any alternatives. Thanks again.

Yeah, I ended up ordering 3 4oz bottles from vortec. Comes in next Monday. I bet it's just thin gear oil lol.

It would be interesting to hear what the big oil guys say.

I just might call them tomorrow just to find out. What I don't understand that this head unit is very similar to the V2 which runs off of motor oil.

Yeah I know. Today I went to a ford dealership and asked if they had any supercharger oil. They had some AcDelco brand stuff, it was clear. Gonna use this until my vortec oil gets here.

I've got a V3 on my Fox, and I've only used the Vortech brand lube. It's red is in color and is like a thin gear oil. I dunno whats in there, but IIRC they recommend that for first time use, you change the oil after the initial 1K miles. Then it's 7K miles after that. But even after my second oil change, the oil still looked red and brand new lol.

Yeah,I bought my vortec v3 used so its already broken in (I hope) either way I'm gonna do the 1k-7k changes since I've re-done my engine. I'm still using the AcDelco supercharger oil as I start up the car for about 2 min a day to further break in engine until my vortec oil arrives.

Mine came from the factory with a 3.38. I'm only hitting 6-7 psi at redline (with a UPR boostmaster pipe), and I wanted to swap it out for the 3.12 and see If i hit 10. Most say you can be close, but it depend on your setup too. I have my new edge getting tuned next week, and I'm gonna ask the tuner if he does obd1 stuff lol.

From all the reviews I've heard, Ramseys in Lutz is one of the best. I'm taking my new edge there tuesday, and I'm gonna ask him about my fox. I'll let you know what he says.

Also, you should come to some of the cruises we do in Tampa Bay. We're always looking for other stang owners.

Please do rogue, a tune is all I need to get back on the road I don't want to go on the dyno yet because my engine isn't fully broken in yet. And I would love to come to the cruises. Been looking for a group of mustang enthusiasts like myself in Tampa to go cruising with and share opinions.

Spoke to Dennis over at Ramseys. He said about $500 to tune on his dyno. That includes a chip. If you have one already, it's around $200.

Gonna put it in tomorrow and see what else I have to do before sending it to tune. I also have to see why my rockers are hitting my drivers side valve covers at 3200 rpm. Might be hitting the baffle but I'll have to pull it off tomorrow.

You might have a pipe coupling that may be loose or perhaps your supercharger belt is slipping.

I forgot to tell you to check the Bosch blow off piece that goes under the pipe that goes to the throttle body, might be stuck open perhaps.
