Some advice for a possible new owner?

Hey guys!
My name is John and I'm new here. I am a mustang fanatic and have been looking for the right fit for me for the last year or so. My stepdads buddy has this gem in his garage that he's selling for $3800. I just want some opinions regarding if it's worth it? Engine was rebuilt so exact mileage isn't known; however the current owner of the car is a trusted friend.
Thanks in advance!Click image for larger version

Not a bad price. Has the car been wrecked before? Does he have receipts for the engine rebuild? What trans? What's the mileage?

No accidents, and I don't believe he has the receipt for the engine rebuild. It's 5spd as well. Clutch and tranny are great. Grabs hard, shifts smooth. However it does need a compressor convert and the bushings need to be replaced(front end) also needs new front tires.

Well it sounds like a decent car, just needs some lovin. Hopefully, one of the fox owners will chime in, with some input. I'd say go for it.

Nice, any plans for her? Besides the stated repair needs.

Yeah man. Gonna throw a k&n CAI, off-road x pipe, some flow masters, haven't picked between shorties and long tubes yet though. Also eventually gonna put a performance throttle body in and cam it. But for now I think I'm just gonna do bolt ons and enjoy her in the stock form.

Good purchase! Looks like a solid unmolested fox. If your state is easy on smog go for long tubes. I can only use Shorties in Cal

Some advice for a possible new owner?

Personally I think some 10th anniversary cobra wheels would look good on it.
There was someone, on here, who had them on theirs and it was the best fox I've ever seen. It was a a two tone dark blue and silver/grey. And I don't care for fox bodies.

Are they 5 lug? And I'm in Florida. There's not really any regulations here.

Yes they are. It's an easy conversion or just use an adapter until you can convert it.

I believe someone, maybe AM, offers a deep dish variant. Which looks just as good if not better, in my opinion.

I love deep dish. However, I thought 5 lug conversions were really expensive? I wasn't aware that there is adapters.

I've got a customer that has 5 lug adapters on his Porsche replica (VW Beetle based). I'd assume someone would offer an adapter for a fox body. I've seen adapters on Mustang IIs, and I'd be surprised if they weren't offered for foxes. If they do I'd maybe use them as a temporary solution until the conversion.

Nice find Congrats! Should be able to find the parts at a Salvage yard for the 5 lug conversion! Sure there is a thread here somewhere that list all parts that you would need!

seems like a great price. Foxbodies seem to be very good at retaining value from the ones I have been looking at. Sweet car. looking forward to seeing pics as you progress. LOVE the FB Gt's!!

She's been cleaned up a little

K&N intake filter, chrome ponies, and I accidentally ordered the coyote 5.0 emblems but I actually like the way they look. Just did new spark plugs and the cat back. Will keep everyone updated w progress!

So far so good. Be on the look out on craigslist as there are always good deals.
