Speedo issues

Speedometer isn't working. I'm lost. Thinking something in the tranny or the gear. Replaced speed sensor and speed-o cable. Any ideas?

Nope. Completely stock man. Just replaced sensor and cable. Speedo moves when I turn cable on the underside of the car. Fuses are all good too

Its most likely the plastic drive gear inside the transmission.Pull the cable/vss off the transmission, jack the rear of the car off the ground and let someone spin the wheel while you insert your finger in the hole. You should feel the drive gear spinning. Make sure the gear isn't stripped either. If either one of these conditions are present, you'll have to remove the tail cover in order to replace it.The vss is only used for idle control & as a engine load determiner,it doesn't have any effect on the mechanical speedometer part of the system. Sometimes the little clip, that keeps the drive gear in place, breaks or comes loose causing the drive gear to lose contact/mesh with the speedo gear. You may be able to locate a how to thread here,on how to replace the gear.Double check to make sure you got the cable seated completely down into the hole on the transmission because if its not pushed all the way in,that can prevent the two gears from meshing properly.

If its not the gears like was stated above the speedo is shot. Happened to me on one of my foxes. Got a tested working pullout speedo off the evilbays, matched the mileage and installed and boom. You do not have to replace the whole cluster, the speedo is its own unit.
