What's it worth

Hello I'm looking at purchasing a 95 gt 5 speed that's near mint condition. I'm wondering if with all the mods if it's worth the price? It's got a vortech v2 supercharger fully forged internals 347 stroker 20000 miles after the build its running 12 psi at 422hp. The guy wants 7500$ for it is that a good price? The supercharger is like 3000 new it self. Thanks, will

If you were going to do all the mods then go for it but just be prepared to accept the worst. With mods like that you can drive the car a week and have the engine blow.

Cars that have that much into them generally sit because it takes the "right" buyer for it. So keep that in mind if your not looking to keep the car long term. Eventually you will probable get your money back but it may sit for a while

If you are not familiar with these cars... Car like that could get real expensive real fast.

Would have to see full out mod list. Like driveline mods and fuel system and everything else.

Not to mention putting forged internals in a stock block... Stock internals are stronger than the stock block and you do not need a 347 to hit that power number. Or 12 psi...

What's it worth

Something's not right here a 347 stroker with 12lbs of boost only making 422hp? Na, I call bull; it should be making more than that or he's lying...
Or it's the weakest 347 known to man...

Adventure till you drop.

Thanks for the input guys ya I'm new to mustangs. Two of my friends own a 95 and a 99 they told me to go for it but they just want me to get a Ford lol. Ya the guy said the previous owner lost the parts list and the shop receipts. made me kinda of nervous. I mean there is another 95 supercharged mustang on cl but he wants 10 grand so I thought this one was a good deal or the guy knows somethings up with it and just getting rid of it. Thanks guys

If your new to these cars, definitely keep looking. Like the other guys said that car could get real expensive real quick, especially if ur not prone to doing it yourself when a problem occurs. And the gt for 10k pass. Mustangs r a dime a dozen take your time looking you'll find the right one

No I don't think there's any suspension mods. Theres a Shop close by that did the motor work on it I'm going to see if I can get any info from them if not I'm going to pass. It's got a eagle forged crank and rods with probe forged pistons and a trickflow cam 512 lift 214 duration. And I've always been a do it your selfer but don't know much about superchargers.

Like I said, forged internals in a stock block makes it no stronger, the stock block itself is the weak point in those motors. Unless it is an aftermarket block.

Like I said, something sounds very wrong as a 347 on 12 psi should be making way more than 422. Hell a stock 302 on 12 psi will be around that.

The numbers are behind the intake manifold. Also my mild 347 put down a hair under 400 to the tire NA. I can bet you that is a stock 302.

Well I talked to the guys that tuned it at hi tech motorsports in elk river mn and he said they tuned it lower to be safe if it was the stock block and they also did tell me the original owner who built the car said it was a 347 stroker.

Something still does not smell right. 12 psi through a 347 is not going to just make 422hp. Unless he used way too small heads and even then...

I'd pass for sure. Especially since its a home built motor apparently.

Hopefully its the 7.3L International motor in that but I HIGHLY doubt it for $2k lol. My father had a 2000 Super Duty with the diesel and at 70,000 miles the motor ran as strong as it did in 2000 but the body... I have not seen something rust like that ever in my life... at least not something that was well taken care of.

Having delt with the super duty a lot and owned a few ( still have a 2011 now)

The 6.0 is not the best motor. It will be OK if you leave it stock. Once you start throwing a programmer on it it runs into problems. Head studs are weak and they have a reputation of lifting heads, the Trans is also weak, the EGR system needs to go. Bottom line is leave it stock.

The only good diesel motors ford has were. The 7.3 and the new 6.7.

The 6.0 and especially the 6.4 are less than great.

Wrong. 6.0L was mid 2003-2007 in the trucks and until 2010 in the vans.

Not sure where you are getting your info but from personal experience IRL I can tell you that's not the case before even searching.

6.0

yep the 6.0 didn't come out until late 2003 and was a problem that year there was a huge class action lawsuit over that motor but I have had 4 of them and I love them I would buy a 6 liter over a 6.4 all day any day I was used car manager at a ford dealer for 6 years and we sold hundreds of the 6 liters if you keep the oil and fuel filters changed and do egr cooler delete the motor is awesome the last one I had my wife drove it and it had a roller bearing turbo 5 inch exhaust and a lot more it made 686 horse and a little over 1000 ft lb torque it was fun and would pull a house.

I'd still take the 7.3 just because they are indestructible. Bulletproof the 6.0 and it can be pretty stout tho.

Yeah not to be a dick either but it seems like you want to hear what you want to hear. There were no 6.0's in the super duties till mid 2003. Good luck champ.
