Cobra rear bumper on 89 gt?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone ever put the cobra rear bumper cover on the fox body gt's. I love all the body kits of a GT besides the rear bumper. Im not sure if the flow would be off or what. Im thinking LX style tail lights and cobra bumper cover. Anyone have anything like this?

Awesome. I thought about doing the cobra grille insert too and getting a pony in it, but I don't want it to look like a cobra.

Have to cut on the GT fascia to add the cobra, pony insert.

Yeah. I've considered trying to take the oval out, filling it in, then putting a pony in its place. This way it would look stock until you see the pony

Alright man. It seems a bit more unique than doing the cobra grille. Plus, i don't want the front and rear to look like a cobra

I had a Cobra hood and Cobra front bumper on my 98 but there was no way in hell I was going to put snakes on it. Its a GT and there is nothing wrong with that. People will know its a GT with the 5.0 badges on it so go for it as far as the body kit goes.

I like all of the body kit except for the rear bumper. May also do a a cobra hood. I like them quite a bit, and my hood is bent.

Wouldnt it look better if you run LX tailpipes with the Cobra bumper cover vs the turn down style tailpipes on the GT or do the GT tailpipes have to be used??

LX tailpipes should be used on a fox regardless. Figure out a way. The turndowns look stupid.

I hate the turndowns, but the bumper is too low to do LX style pipes. Thats why i want to go with a cobra bumper.

You'll be able to run the LX pipes once the Cobra bumper cover is on.Its kinda hard to see the GT turndowns anyways because the GT cover hangs so low.

The only thing I didn't like about running dumps out the muffler was exhaust fumes.I had no cats at the time & the fumes just rolled in.lol

I might have to run dumps on mine depending on what I do with the rear suspension. I heard a trick from a car guy who said if you aim the turndowns 45 degrees towards each other the pulses push each other out the back of the car. It sounds like it'd work but I have never tried it or heard of it being tried before this. Might give it a shot if I run dumps lol.

My dumps turn 45 straight back. I've driven that car for years and have never noticed and fumes. But of coarse I was always hauling ***..

I had regular dumps on a 91GT with an OR pipe and Flowmaster 2 chambers and holy **** my eardrums... I had to turn the radio almost all the way up when I was on the highway and would routinely take 2 hour drives home at the time on weekends.

Fumes weren't a huge problem oddly enough with the dumps but at one point I got out of the car after one of those trips and my ears were ringing and I could not hear that well. I had tailpipes and cats put in that week.
