A/C question ?

So my A/C hasn't worked in my car for years , and I never used it when it was working. So I have decided to remove my A/C completely. Question is how hard is it to remove everything and cap whatever needs to be capped ?

Its easy.If you're positive all the freon is out of the system, you can start removing things. If it isn't completely empty, get a shop to evacuate the freon. You'll have to buy a ac delete/eliminater pulley to go in place of the ac compressor. Most of the hoses/lines disconnect with a wrench or crescent wrench, but the line from the condenser to the evaporater core has a spring lock fitting on one end of the line. You can use a efi fuel line disconnect tool to release the spring lock fitting on this line. Its the same type of spring lock as the fuel lines. You'll have to remove the radiator in order to remove the condenser.Cap the evaporater core inlet/outlet so you can keep contamination out, just in case you decide to use the ac again someday or you sell the car.A new buyer will most likely want ac so keep the core closed up.Tape the ac compressor & ac clutch cycling switch wiring harnesses up to keep dirt & water out.Cap the lines, compressor, condenser & accumulater tank closed to keep contamination out while its stored. That's all there is to it.
