You have to be careful of that for two reasons:
1) Ford used steel and brass for the gear teeth on dizzys. They should not be interchanged.
2) since those gears tend to wear with the cam, it's not a good idea to reuse an old gear. Like AllyDriver said, try the f150 dizzy. If you don't have that, Figure out which kind the f150 engine came with and try that. It may or may not fix your issue, but regardless you want to make sure they sync up.
