Re: BBK Ssi

What does he think about it? How much power does it yield as a stand alone upgrade with stock heads and stock cam? Is it worth it?

Re: BBK Ssi

HMMMMM, he loves the intake and i think its a good design, im not sure as a stand alone power improvement as he put it with windsor jr heads and a trickflow stage 2 cam but i think it is a great upgrade, the trickflow intake is also a nice peice. there is also nothing wrong with the edelbrock rpm series intakes either. personally i like the desighn and look of the bbk over the rest though.

Re: BBK Ssi

yes the heads will fit with stock pistons and even with a higher lift cam. As with any head upgrade, Id check the piston to valve clearance just to make sure. Your cam will have an effect on the clearance as well so be careful in choosing it and make sure the cam and heads are a good match.

I have a set of AFR 165s with a Comp XE270HR cam and have never had any issues with PV clearance. As said before, you should always check regardless of what you hear from everyone else. Even little things like head gasket thickness can make a huge difference, and every engine is different.

Re: BBK Ssi

yup, most people don't realise as well that deck height and how far down the hole you sit is different on every last single rebuild (even piston to piston), not to meantion if the heads have been shaved (even box stock factory, mine yeilded high) is not the same head to head. and Piston to valve clearence is usually played out in thousand's of an inch.

double check, do it, be happy you know your valves will never kiss a piston.
