Stuck gauges?

94 GT and my coolant temp, oil and fuel gauges do not drop when I turn off the car. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Pull the cluster and remove the clear plastic and see if a little dry lube in there helps out and see if they move with any help from a finger.

Worst case just buy a new used good cluster online, match the miles and roll. Cluster removal takes 5 minutes.

Well go figure, I moved the car back into the garage and all the gauges fell like they should when I shut it off. So I guess I will be taking that cluster part off to take a look behind it. What is considered a "dry lube" because needed or not I might as well have some in the garage just in case

3-IN-ONE 2.5 oz. Lock Dry Lubricant Oil-120074 - The Home Depot

Could be simply a flaky connection on the back or it could be failing. I dunno. The good news is they are cheap for a basic GT cluster and any 94/95 GT cluster is a direct swap and is mechanical so you can reset the odometer to be accurate real easy. Replace the odometer worm gear while you are in there, they are a known failure point.

It would just suck to replace the cluster and have the same issue but not sure how else you'd troubleshoot it if all the connections are good. You have any buddies with a 94/95 GT?

Sounds good and easy enough to do. I have a pick a part close bye and they have a couple 94's there so I might just pick up a cluster from them and part it out or just swap it all together. Thanks for the help.

Just make sure its a GT cluster, not a V6. Remove the headlight knob, then the torx screws holding the bezel on, then the torx screws holding the cluster in, pull it out and reach back and unplug the 2 plugs from the back. Done. Install is reverse. Like I said its 5 minutes to remove.
