vortech v3. Can i change the diverter/bov for a better sounding one?

just wondering if i can swap my bosch diverter valve for a better one in order to get the nice sound you get when you decelerate a turbo'd car.

Yes but you need a blow through mass air setup. In short your mass air sensor would have to be after the blow off valve.

Maf after the bov? Btw my supercharger isn't intercooled.

My current setup is:
Tb to vortech pipe. (Pipe has a hose coming off of it to a Bosch bypass valve then continues to power pipe)

Vortech pipe to blower.
Blower to power pipe
Power pipe goes to maf
Maf goes to air filter.

Hope this can be understood



89 gt
5.0 roller bored .20 over
Sealed power Pistons
Vortec v3 11psi
Gt40 heads
Bbk 5001 intake
3.73 gears
Custom exhaust system

The reason the maf needs to be after the blow off valve is so the computer knows how much air is going into the engine. Right now with your setup the air is metered and then redirected back into the system when your valve opens. The blow off valve you want vents to the atmosphere and gives the cool sound your after. And yes most system are intercooled that use the blow off valve.

Ok so I just move my maf up next to the throttle body? Then I switch to an aftermarket bov? What kinds are you guys running with your blowers.
