I picked up a '94 GT last May. One of the things I missed while looking it over before buying it, was that the belt had been re-routed, bypassing the smog pump. Getting into it deeper at home, I noted that to accomplish this, the wrong side, the grooved side, was riding on the top idler pulley! It hadn't seemed to hurt the belt, but OTOH, had no way of knowing how long it had been run like that.

Some say deleting the smog pump increases fuel consumption a bit; others say the opposite. Since the car has horrible fuel "economy" for a 5.0 5-speed 3.08 gears, I went and hooked up the pump. Needed original length belt, and had to buy the diverter and bypass valves. The solenoids I found hidden inside the fender well, still operable.

Car looks good for 23 years old, 164K, no leaks, smooth feeling driveline.
