Seeing as you've still got stock heads... I had basically the same work done, but GT40 tubular upper/lower on my 89 5.0, shorty headers, 3.55 gears, stock ignition, stock fan, e303 cam.. and ran 13.7s, if I had to guess I'd say you're around 225-250 wheel HP with a manual, up to 240ish with an auto.. I could be quite wrong, though, it's been known to happen

Ever run it at the track? And all those estimates changed dramatically if you are 'juiced' also

dont DARE install a cam with out heads/intakes to go with it and there are better options than the e303

Actually it helped out a LOT at the track, lost some midrange but was able to shift at 5800 RPM rather than 5400 RPM at the track.. definitely made a difference - plus I was in there anyhow when my timing chain had jumped, and both of us have/had upper lower intakes with cam...

^^ well I mean why do all the word when you can swap on heads/intakes for about the same effort.

Because a good set of heads can run over $1000.. that's not always an option for people just starting out...

this is so true. he could port his "e7's" if money is a real issue. you can squeeze close to 40hp out e7's with stock valves. this is very beneficial if you are tryn to save up for a blower or turbo. and it would leave a few dollars on the table to upgrade injectors and get a adj. fuel pressure regulator. cause he will definatley need it if the heads are correctly ported. just my 2 cents
