Steeda vs. Maximum Motorsports vs. any/all others suspension

I have been planning on a Steeda suspension for my 91 5.0, but recently in another thread had two people talk up Maximum Motorsports, and complain about UPR. Any thoughts? Pros, and or cons on Steeda?

My particular car I hope to be streetable 4-500 horse. Look, sound, handle good. Ride ok.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: Steeda vs. Maximum Motorsports vs. any/all others suspension

I have used products from all 3 companies...

UPR makes some good products, and some products just aren't up to par

Steeda has good ideas, but the execution isn't always there...and I hate paying for a name as well.

Maximum Motorsports - I can't think of anything negative with any products I have bought or installed from them. As a matter of fact I don't think I've heard anyone talk negative about a product made by MM. Yes...it's a bit pricier, but worth the extra money IMO.

My car would have MM products under it if it didn't already come with an almost complete Kenny Brown package...

My 2 cents on the subject.

Re: Steeda vs. Maximum Motorsports vs. any/all others suspension

I have some UPR and some MM parts on my car. I like the MM without a doubt. They are a little more but well worth it. Some of the UPR parts I like, but others...not so much. I have their rear upper and lower control arms and full length sub frame connectors and they are fantastic. I had trouble with the clutch cable (all aftermarket ones suck so I've heard) and now the bumpsteer kit. I stay away from Steeda because I feel it's way over priced for what you get. Just my opinion though.

Re: Steeda vs. Maximum Motorsports vs. any/all others suspension

Steeda is overpriced in my opinion as well. UPR, from my understanding, just makes crap products. The only thing I've ever had from them was a clutch quadrant, and I haven't had any issues. However, I've heard tons of horror stories.

Maximum Motorsports are hands down the best. They are true innovators in the Mustang suspension world. These guys really know what they are doing, and they prove that with the cars they have built for the track. You pay more for their stuff, but it's because the parts are actually well engineered and well built.

And no, I'm not on the MM payroll, but I wouldn't complain if they started sending checks my way for promotion.

Re: Steeda vs. Maximum Motorsports vs. any/all others suspension

Basically if you want the real deal dont go with steeda, they may have good products... but do you want good or the best.

I have been using MM's products for years and so far so good, I mean their CC plates carry a life time warranty and are the ONLY plates you should use for a coil over setup.

They also seem to actually car about performance vs just selling you crap so when you call you talk to people that KNOW what you are asking not those that just read product descriptions.

With that said they are not the only great company out there, just the one I have used and love.

+1, serisouly learn from me and others. I've had a lot of parts break. Pay a little more now for a better product and you'll save yourself a lot of time, money, and headaches later. This will keep you from wanting to slaughter someone, haha.
