ahhh, so much better

No more timing chain hanging loose

front covers all cleaned up, all the brackets and accessories shined a bit, 2 of the brackets painted a nice black.. it'll finally not look like it's got years of crap caked on it

just gotta let the gasket sealant set a bit, then I'll be able to pop the front cover back on.. woo, can't wait to drive this car again

well, got it all back together.. refilled the oil
started adding coolant.. topped off radiator.. noticed it dropping slowly.. reinspect engine

D'OH coolant on top of the water pump housing

at first I thought I screwed up the front cover gasket.. ended up being the coolant hose between the pipe that goes through the vee to the firewall, and the water pump... of course none of the parts stores have the right one (they list it, but its 2x too long without the proper bends..) figures.. time to visit a dealership :-\

this one wouldn't work no matter what it wasn't even close
the one I bought from the dealer later on was a perfect match

take the old one with you, have them match it manually, you'll come out with closer matches half the time that way, got myself unstranded at college one time like that, i had to be at work too!

yeah, problems were all sorted out lol..

since this post was made..

I've hit high-mid 13's 7 times at the track, completely wasting a perfectly good set of tires - I broke 180k miles, I BROKE IT at 184k miles and one of my rears' seals let loose and I'm shooting gear oil all over the place under the car

on the other hand my radiator hoses are just peachy
