What if we had a 'reward' for users that get to a certain post count, without too much post whoring. Like, after 2500 posts, they'd have the option of buying a ME.com decal for their side windows at 50% off... or something. Just a way of rewarding those that try to make this site better. Either that, or sell them to the person at cost. It would also help advertising for the site. I'm sure there are little rewards that could be possible.

How would you be able to differentiate between the post whoring posts and the normal, actually helpful posts? I think it's good just at it is...

well, I'd assume you'd be able to tell if they had a bunch of very very small posts like "+1" comments behind others... especially when you're talking about 2500 posts. It's just an idea.

I vote Jimmy Beaner as the one who gets to go through and read everyone's posts to decide which ones are good enough to actually count... should only take a couple years. |

it's not so much about their posts being "good enough"... just that the bulk of their posts can't be like "I agree"... they have to actually contribute to the ME.com community.

It's the simple fact that someone will have to read through every single post each user has ever made, ever. I know I won't be the one to do it. |

If a decent amount of time, their post isn't a post whoring occassion, then they're fine. Some people just don't make many posts that are even worth reading.
