Question banging out

Well my little 89 notch is being stubborn. I just refreshed my 302 after a nine year hiatus and she wont take no throttle? Press the throttle progressively and she runs decent, open it up and she starts bangin. I'm guessin that the pump is crapping out on me so I bought a 255. Do I have to run an adjustable regulator w this pump or can i run it on the stock regulator? Its got a new coil, wires, and plugs and thats why I'm leaning towards a fuel delivery prob. Any advice or knowledge about my situation would sure save me a lot of headaches......

It is a good idea to run adj fuel press reg.what is this banging you speak of?be careful cause if its detonation it can kill your motor.I would say you need to check your timing first.then use a fuel pressure tester to check your pressure at idle and wot.

Oh time it would be better to use the appropriate section.79-95. This section is more for site and app help/suggestions.
