Can probably help you, but why bother?
At best you will end up with a 302 or slightly larger.
Start with a 351W instead and get into the big block cubic inch area.
289's and 302's used the same block with the exception of the 1963 HP block which was built a bit stronger to handle the extra HP it put out. The weight was gained in the thicker main caps used in the HP block, so it wasn't the block itself, but the main caps that made the difference in weight.
Included in the block family are the 221, 260, 289 & 302 engines. The 289 was produced from 1963 to 1968. In 1968 the 289 was stroked 1/8" to produce the first 302.
