Guys like 99 and soccer lover have been around this forum for a long time now. I think that helps in them actually knowing members who are here, active, and helpful and those who might just troll around.

Adventure till you drop
Mods cover all sections of the forum as do admins. Admins and Mods do about the same thing but admins also have software access to manage member account issues (like name changes) and to make physical changes to the way the forum looks.

Regarding the site team - they are VOLUNTEERS who give up their time to help out the community and deserve major props for this - It's a pretty thankless gig. The bulk of what site team members do is managing daily board housekeeping issues. Moving posts and threads into the right locations, helping members out as they are able and responding to complaints.

Decisions about member management problems (like how to handle a board troll) are made as a group and after some substantial discussion. Disciplinary actions are taken after we have some team agreement about how to proceed.

Additions to the site team are made periodically as we have need and as with other decisions, we make these choices as a team. New mods are selected based on their participation, how they interact with others and how active they are. New mods are expected to supply the coffee and donuts

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't know about the admins, rarely see them, but the mods are on a lot...
Thanks Janet...

Janet used to post quite often. I think she trolls a lot now. . I think everyone involved in the production of the forum deserves major props. Great job guys and thank you for all you do!

So ...

First: Anyone can join the board, regardless of the rig they own. After all, they may be shopping or dreaming and this is a great place to do that. Folks don't get banned over this.

Next: if someone is shown the door there was was probably a really good reason... and they undoubtedly got a warning of some sort first. In ether case, these decisions are made by the site team as group and not taken lightly.

Finally: we don't discuss members accounts or their mod interaction on the board. it's a PRIVATE matter between the mod and the member. No one needs their mess dragged out in public and it's a distraction for the rest of the community.

If you want to know what would get you in hot water here - just read the rules: http://www.mustangevolution.com/foru...ork&page=rules
They are longish but the short version is be nice, be reasonable, be polite and be helpful. The rest is just details.

I used to participate often in the V6 Mustang section; my "trolling" around the site checking, cleaning, deleting, and as of late, getting the MOTM back up and running has dampened my thread participations. By the time I get through all that, my paid job time kicks in.

This is a fun site to volunteer at; there are lots of new members who join this site as their first forum, so they are basically cutting their teeth, learning how a forum works. The typical first posts from new members are usually those that have been asked many times before, and they can get the typical responses from our 'seasoned' members to search, or perhaps get mocked because its been asked many times. This is where we spend our time looking, cleaning, sending private messages to, in order to create a forum for all members to enjoy and feel welcomed.

The easiest way perhaps to get assistance with an issue or problem is to either send a private message to one of the staff members, or if it's related to a response in a thread, report it. We typically spend the majority of our time reading through posts within a thread looking for rule abuse; if it's fpound and reported by our membership, that makes it easier for us to address.

We have a great membership here at ME, and its a pleasure working to keep ME the best source of everything Mustang running smooth.

Why can't we get a R rated section. I know we're all adults here and yes i know this is meant to be a family place but come on do you guys really think a mustang owner has his family huddled around the computer screen scrolling through the forum? I like this place because it was to my first forum and even though i have joined others i still troll here more often. Anyways a section at the bar that senior members can go and use four letter words would be awesome

^ it's a public forum anyone could view it. Not everyone is as tolerant to that kind of language as you and I. And the mods/admins would certainly receive complaints, with a thread like that. But maybe they could make a member only thread, to something similar to that, that could only be seen/access to members...
Which what would a thread like that say to potential members about the forum?

Several reasons why we don't have this...

1. We are not all adults here. Anyone can view and we accept registrations from 13 year olds.

2. An adult section is likely to be loaded with content that is offensive to some portion of our membership - frankly, mostly women. The lines get blurry and cleaning up the splatter is messy.

3. This is a MUSTANG FORUM. There are plenty of places on the web to find alternative content.

That's a great question and one we have discussed at length. When I first joined the bar used to be PG-13 ish.

I brought up the topic, but since we decided that it doesn't set a good example to have a section for adults to behave badly.

We've had members as young as 13 join.

Yeah but I've been on other forums that require a password to get in. Maybe after 100 or so tech only post & good behaviour you get the code by an admin

Like Janet mentioned, this site is intended for Mustangs. I for one like that. If it's other "R rated" material you are after, there are plenty of sites you can go to and get that.

We leave Mustang Evolution just that: Mustang related.

There is the bar forum; that's our "off topic Mustang" forum. We however do not permit any threads, posts, or comments that are seen as "R" rated material. See the "community rules" for a better explaination as to what is allowed.

The discussion you brought up questioning "R" rated posts is what I've been directing my comments at. As commented by me, there's enough of that out there on dedicated sites.

A huge issue for this type of material being allowed to be posted is that it brings in lots of other trash posts, spam to spread into the other sections of this site; that places a much larger load on the staff to clean.

While some may not agree with my views on this, my vote will be no on any "R" rated forums here on this site. I'm only one staff member however. Should you obtain the attention of those who own the site, or others that help maintain it, you might get different views.

It only takes one that is not comfortable with it to be a problem. So if there are members younger than or as young as 13 then that's it bud. So a poll is pointless.

Technically this is their site, they can do with it what they please. We come here just to hang out and get advice from fellow mustang owners...
Just like the country, the forum has rules, don't follow them and you'd get kicked out...

Ok, I'm just curious. Why do you think the forum needs a PG-13/R thread/section?
Is there a legitimate reason?

Where we can have uncensored fun. I am not asking for a place to post nudes but a place where we can talk about random **** without getting an infraction.
For example we once had a thread here about c or d cups 😉 but fot closed because it was inappropriate even though no foul language was used or nsfw pics were posted. Maybe we want to post a random picture but it happens to have a 4 letter word in but we can't because it's against the rules. I know this will never happen but I'm sure most of us secretly want it but are to scared of the ban hammer

I was once on a forum with a thread called find the noodz. It was 200+ pages of the most random pics you can fathom. Ranged from awesome nature pics, cars, etc to things you can never unsee. With a few nudes sprinkled in.

Still the best thread I've ever seen.
