Buyer/Seller Rating system

Has there ever been the consideration on this site for a buyer/seller feedback system? I was just thinking it would put some people at ease when going through transactions with other members here.

Exactly. I think I'm on like 46 forums or so now (I can tell you on my next birthday how many exactly, lol), and have been a mod on a couple, and many have the itrader rating system which I think when used, will help others have something to look at to gain trust from someone they do not know. I'm going through a trade right now where one of us is going to have to take the risk of trusting the other guy (I know that's not any liability to the site) and it would be nice for both of us if not at least one of us, to possibly have some sort of background history selling and buying items. I like the idea of having pics required also, but I will leave that to the admin here.

So, after the transaction, each member will leave their feedback rating as satisfactory or not satisfactory and be able to comment as to why it is as such.

I would also like to see old "sold" item threads be able to be closed (not that it is an issue or anything, but would help keep it more user friendly), whether it is from moderation or self closing (which I have found in my experience to be lack-luster, because most won't take the time to do so after the fact).

I like the idea. I try and leave feedback in the sale thread.

Correct, I've seen quite a few pages with them, and it works really well. Keeps people honest

We had this on an old forum I was a member of and it was nice to see you could trust people. But honestly, with PayPal your protected so it's really not an issue. Really this will only make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

That's true; however, sometimes I come across a new guy that sets up a paypal account and isn't verified and whatnot and there are other little loopholes that people can get around to get your money for nothing. Some people also like to have money sent as a gift (to avoid fees) and if you do that, that's one way you can get screwed. Extra piece of mind would aid in weighing the possibility of paying the fees for your safety or not, along with the price of the item you're purchasing.

8 of 9 transactions have been that way on different platforms going both ways so far; however, they were mostly on the sti platform and on nasioc and iwsti.com they both had the itrader setup, so I felt fine when sending money and I assumed they did sending to me also. On 8thcivic.com I can't remember, but I may be close to 15 or more transactions. Easy to trust that number.

I don't care if they have an itrader rating or not. You NEVER send money for goods as a gift. It's stupid, and your asking to get ripped off. If you haven't yet you have been extremely lucky but your luck WILL run out. That's the world we live in dude.

To each his own. Like I say, I'm selective. I have found on this site, I don't risk it, but others I do. I would like to think that a guy with a good record that is a car guy, I could trust. You're right though in it being a risk nonetheless.

Yeah I'm not trying to be a dick, just saying you are basically agreeing on paper that you gave them a gift. No contract in place holding them to sending you anything.
