Unable to upload any new photos

I have not been on this site for quite some time so I am not sure who to reach out to directly for this....

I was trying to upload some new photos of my car to one of my Albums but I keep getting "Failed" messages. I thought it may be that I am taking up too much space with the existing photos so I deleted some of the ones I did not need in the album, but I still cannot upload anything.

The error is - Failed to write file. Check disc quotas and permissions for the path: /usr/sites/mustangevolution.com/www/htdocs/forum/albumpictures/thumbs/44/7c97f05f464615579f96e79b05ba99e7_44457.jpg

This error seems like it is on the website side. The photo I tried test uploading was well within the specs of what the site requires for size and pixels. Did something change or needs to be changed to fix this? I tried in different browsers and such also.

You using the app or the website? What browser? What OS? Are you actually letting your computer pull all the updates if you are not on Win10 or MACOS where it makes you? I'm on the most current edition of 10 with Chrome and its fine. Opera works well too.

You can also just use a 3rd party site. I like cubeupload. They are what Photobucket was in the early 2000s. Fast, simple, works well and doesn't have 9 zillion advertisements and now they want you to pay $100 a year.

https://cubeupload.com/

Just an example, this image is hosted from them just like PB used to be. Good to have all your stuff in one spot IMO.

Just because I give you advice, doesn't mean I know more than you. Its just means I've done more stupid ****.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I am wanting to upload photos to my album on here. So I am not looking to try any 3rd party sites.

I have tried IE, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. I am using Windows 10 on a desktop which is up to date as well as each browser. I have cleared my local cache on the C Drive - which includes cache for all browsers. The error is server side. It shows up from the ME website, not a pop-up on my local computer.

/usr/sites/mustangevolution.com/www/htdocs/forum/albumpictures/thumbs/

is a path which I am guessing is on whoever's server that is hosting this site.

I too have had problems posting pics including the " Failed to write file" despite following all instructions on posting to my Album. I posted this same pic with the same host to another thread only to have it disappear when I refresh my browser. I'll do that now to ensure it's still visible.

*fingers crossed*

Edit

Nope - just disappeared. Am using this to post -

1 of the photos for example is 135 KB. Which is tiny. Most phones nowadays take photos ranging from 1-5 MB.

Thanks. I tried deleting the album because I figured maybe something was corrupt on the server. I tried making a new one and when I tried uploading the first photo it gave a similar error.

Hey there,

Can you screenshot me the steps you've taken to upload the photos?
We want to see how you're doing it. Also, we want to see if we can replicate the issue.

Best regards,

Ed

Thanks Ed,

Here are screenshots in the order of steps I take to try and upload. I circled each item that I would either click, or is of importance. Such as the file size in screenshot 4.

Please let me know if this helps.

Just tested mine out and I'm fine here. Old *** laptop running Win10 X64 with all the latest updates. Chrome browser fully updated.

Dunno. Maybe its actually a borked setting on his PC?

One may think but I have tried from multiple different computers. From my work and my home computer. Same error on both. Tried different photos just to see if it was the 1 picture. Always the same type of error. It is probably something with my user profile folder on the server.

(Been) trying to post here and while they show up but then they disappear on a reload. Also can't post to my album and get this message -

Failed to write file. Check disc quotas and permissions for the path: /usr/sites/mustangevolution.com/www/htdocs/forum/albumpictures/thumbs/44/5f55d19203694647db6077d1ee5a964c_44585.jpg

The pic is 600 x 600.

Also have numerous postings using [img] [/img]with the same results.

Win7 & latest Firefox.

Same here! I was able to upload photos to my newest album - no errors. Just an annoying thing where the website keeps flipping photos sideways after I upload them.

The photo is saved correctly on my computer and appears in the correct orientation. I guess the website flips the photo depending on dimensions I would assume?

Images are sideways because forums dont read the exif data that phones embed into their images to show their orientation. Technically, the "proper" orientation to take an image with your phone is sideways with the volume buttons pointing down. Not straight up and down as we seem to believe.

If you send the images to your computer from your phone, you need to open them with an editor program (Paint, ect) and Save As, to force the image to show as the new orientation and change the exif data.

That is exactly what I did but the website still flipped them. No biggie
