My new 4.2 is finally coming together

I've been working toward this since 2003 when I bought a salvage 4.2 from a 2000 F-150.

Now it's looking like this:

Forged pistons and rods, 1.7 adjustable roller rockers on RPM CNC big valve heads. New cam. And a beefy as all hell main stud girdle that you can see at the bottom with the oil pan off.

Re: My new 4.2 is finally coming together

Changed jobs twice, got married.... Yeah, it's been a tad ridiculous. But, by the end of June it should be in the car.

I am in the process of looking into a years long project. I need a good body 87-93 or 94-95 roller to get me going.

I have the good body 93 already that is going to be my long term project as well....But I don't expect to start the project for at least another year or so.

I've got the time off work at the end of June to do the install/ parts swapping.

Yeah, it's a pushrod motor. 4.2 is the same block as the 3.8 but the crank has a longer throw.

Re: My new 4.2 is finally coming together

It's just rattle can Gold metal fleck red automotive paint I got from O'Reily's
The heads came to me that way from RPM.

The upper and lower intakes are already painted to match and on my current motor.

me too, that and the AC look nasty. I'll probably end up ripping the AC out anyway. Maybe look into one of the electric ones to keep my wife happy.

A little bit of tape over the connectors and it's not too bad:

Talking Re: My new 4.2 is finally coming together

No, it's just going slower than expected, that's all. This weekend I'm going back up to my dad's shop to finish it up. Sub frame connectors are in. Engine is in, headers are connected. Starter is in (That took about 4 hrs with the headers in the way) and the lower intake is back on. The radiator is all installed too.
The MAC H pipe and Spintech cat back system is installed except for the tail pipes and exhaust tips for the side exit exhaust.

So coating the wiring and pulley won't hurt anything? Just as long as I protect the electrical connections? Your motor looks amazing

I don't think that I'd completely coat the windings, but a little over-spray won't hurt anything.
