I know right...the only damage to the car is the radiator, the radiator support, front bumper crap and the airbags...no hood damage or engine damage or anything...it still runs.

Book value vs. Repair amount= insurance saves money by totaling it.

What a bummer.

the main thing that ****ed you over being totalled is the airbags went off, they are expensive to fix/replace.

Even if he bought it back, im sure alot of insurance companies wouldnt insure him since it would say totalled on the title.

I bought my car totalled and I have full coverage insurance that's cheaper than my husband's brand new car. I just have a salvaged title and it's hard to sell once it has that. Sorry bout your car...that sucks A**

yeah, or he can put liability on it, and keep it as a show car... or a project car. Liability here is like $50 a month... pretty cheap. So if he kept it as a show car, he wouldn't be driving it much anyway.... chances he'd hit something with it would be pretty small. And as we can see, there isn't a horrible amount of damage done. I had more done when a semi hit me last summer. Had to completely replace the passenger side of my car

Exactly...the insurance wants nothing to do with that car anymore...they sold it to an auction which only dealers can buy the cars, so i have really no chance of getting it back, (not without loosing a bunch more money).

so wait..whats the deal.. now does the insurance company have to buy you a new car? isnt that good.. other than the fact your monthly payments will sky-rocket... and what were they before-after the wreck?

What is KBB for your car? I see salvaged cars selling all the time, granted it's for a lot less than any other car even if they appear to be in similar condition.

I got $7200 (which was kbb value) for my car and I used that to buy my truck.

Dont feel bad man, it happened to me too. It was my first car i had ever bought. Spent my own money on it and everything. The reasons ours got totalled out is probably due to the fact airbags went off. I think if my bags didnt go off i would still have it. Here are some pics of it wrecked...kidna looks the same actually
