Nice...my friend has one of those..and just a piece of advice, don't buy an ak. If you want another good gun, I can get ya a lower for an AR15 for a good price and give ya tips on how to build it up right. But yeh, those guns are fun for a while.

Re: Bought my second firearm today

I don't like the ak because it's not accurate enough for me. And I've shot enough to be able to say this with a certain percent of knowledge on the subject. I should throw up pics of the guns laying around my apartment right now lol. 2 remington 870 shotguns, one 12 guage, one 20 gauge; M1 carbine (in fully original form, trying to restore it back to it's past glory); a 12 gauge semi, and uh...several more, I forget.

this is my home defense

nah one of the main reasons i wanted one is because as a crew chief i only qualify on the M-16 once every 3 years. in basic i only fired 80 rounds total. 40 for practice, 40 for qual, got a 28. And that was the first time i ever fired a real weapon. This will be good for me to target plink and practice for my next qual so i can get expert. i might actually have to use one overseas one day. I want to be profficient. That and im just a big fan of military weapons. my next pistol will be a M1911-A1 Mil Spec. I am wanting a M1903A3 rifle also.(5 round clip, bolt action, used as a sniper rifle in WWII. IIRC the sniper in saving private ryan was using the 1903.) but those are very rare, and hard to find not demilitarized or out the *** in price. Also would like to get an M1 Garand.

Then do I have the site for you. This place sells M1 Garands (at different grades) as well as the 1903A Springfield.

http://www.odcmp.com/

If you end up wanting to get one, if I gave ya the money could you buy me one too? I'm not joking. I'd love an M1 Garand.

I'd get one myself but there's quite a bit of paper work if you aren't in the military and such. I'd only use it for like going out to the shooting range once in awhile, and just to hang it somewhere. To me, the M1 Garand is an epic weapon in WW2.

It's pretty cool, buy the guns, parts, and ammo off of them. I really want to get one, but it says I'm required to be in a Membership in CMP Affiliated Organization.. which means I have to join an ROTC at the nearby public highschool

then I need to have proof of Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity. Which means.. I have to take a class in one of many options here:

* Current or past military service.
* Current or past law enforcement service
* Participation in a rifle, pistol, air gun or shotgun competition (provide copy of results bulletin).
* Completion of a marksmanship clinic that included live fire training (provide a copy of the certificate of completion or a statement from the instructor).
* Distinguished, Instructor, or Coach status.
* Concealed Carry License.
* Firearms Owner Identification Cards that included live fire training.
* FFL or C&R license.
* Completion of a Hunter Safety Course that included live fire training.
* Certification from range or club official or law enforcement officer witnessing shooting activity. A form for use in completing and certifying your range firing can be downloaded from the CMP web site at http://www.odcmp.com/forms/marksmanship.pdf
* No proof of marksmanship required if over age 60. proof of club membership and citizenship required for all ages.

You see all the crap I gotta go through? x_x *sigh* I swear, it's either buy it from there (Which is something I'd rather do) or get an Airsoft version of one, or wait until Big 5 starts selling a few again.

^ Yes they had a few before, maybe a few years ago but they all looked beat up.

Re: Bought my second firearm today

right now I just have a pair of shotguns, an 870 12 gauge and an old bolt action 12 gauge from sears. Eventually I want a handgun, I'd like one of the mini-dessert eagles
