Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

T-Bird update......................I have sold the GT40 heads due to the fact they won't work with my flat top pistons.I have a set of ported and polished E-7's now.I installed a 2 1/2 inch off road x-pipe,BBK shorties, and warlock race mufflers with the built in cut outs.I removed the 20th anniversary Cougar turbine wheels and installed a set of Turbo Coupe wheels that I polished. The upper Explorer intake, steering pump bracket (I/m smog and a/c delete),the belt tensioner, factory aluminum valve covers, and the 3G alternator are all polished. The polished parts don't make the car faster, but they sure look good.I also did a digital speedo mod so my car is capable of reading up to 199mph instead of the factory 85.It's got a '99 Bullitt Mustang gas lid,and I notched the rear bumper and bumper cover so I could raise the exhaust tips up into the bumper like the new T-Birds and the Marauder.Nice touch if I say so myself.I get to say that I was the first with that mod.I've tried and tried to post pics, but it never works.I can send pics through the e-mail,though.If anybody needs to see the engine or whatever, let me know and I will e-mail you.Or,if someone can take my pics and post them, that would be awesome.BUT,that's where the 'Bird stands now.She has surprised a LOT of Mustang and import owners. It's great to see the faces on thse "Fast and the Furious" wanna-bes when the 'Bird spanks them.

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

89 GT 5 speed with B&M shifter. Steeda clutch mechanism, cobra clutch, trickflow track heat top end kit with stage one cam, 24 lbs. injectors, 190 lph fuel pump, 65 mm throttle body, calibrated mass air meter, 1.6 roller rockers, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 4.10 gears, weld draglites 15x8 and 15x4. It is pearl white with red highlites. I'm thinking it should have around 340 horsepower maybe a little more. I had an automatic with the same things done and it ran a 12.80. I don't know what it will run as a five speed yet. Anyone have any guesses?

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

1992 GT that I bought new, off the showroom floor, in Chattanooga, TN. It was one of the family cars until my wife took it off-roading on a wet day. After sitting for two years, I put a battery in it and it cranked on the second hit of the key--two year old gas and all!

I got motivated that day this is a list of the modifications so far:

302 With ARP Fasteners
Motorsport E303 Cam
SFI Balancer
Underdrive Pulleys
Crane 1.7 Roller Rockers
Motorsport GT-40 Intake
Edelbrock/BBK 70 mm Throttle Body
Mac Cold Air Intake
C&L 73 mm Mass Air
Motorsport 24 lb. Injectors
Kirby Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
NOS 150 HP Dry Nitrous System
AFM Nitrous Controls
Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Heads
Taylor 409 10.4 mm Race Wires
MSD 6AL Ignition & Blaster Coil
Doable 3-Way Custom Chip
Mac Ceramic Coated Long-Tube Headers
Mac Off-Road H-Pipe
Flow-master Mufflers
Mac Chrome Exhaust
Spec Stage 3 Plus Clutch
Tremec 3550 Transmission
Hurst Shifter
Hurst Line Loc
Motorsport Aluminum Driveshaft
4.56:1 Gear
Auburn Pro Differential
Moser 31 Spline Axles
Torque Boxes and Seams Welded
Trunk Mounted Battery
255 LPH Walbro Fuel Pump
Auto Meter Gauges
Tilt Steering From 1989
Pioneer Satellite AM/FM/CD/XM
Cobra 13" Drilled Front Brakes
2002 PBR Drilled Rear Brakes
17X8 Cobra R Wheels Front
17X10 Cobra R Wheels Rear
Pirelli P7000 Radials 255/45 Front 275/40 M/T Drag Radials Rear
Ground Pounder Tubular K-Member
Ground Pounder Tubular A-Arms
Ground Pounder Coil-Overs Front and Rear
KYB-Adjustables

The car has 187,000 miles on the car and about 5,000 on this engine. I have a 347 in the works by Thumper Performance of Orange Park, FL. It's a forged piston & rod, Edelbrock head, X303, basic motor. It should be in the car by February of next year.

I've had a ball with this car and don't think I'll ever sell it. It's just your basic, senior citizen transportation.

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

Don't worry about that. No matter what you have, there's always someone who has more or can go a bit faster. I've had my Mustang for fourteen years. Most of the mods have taken over seven years to put together.

When I was fifteen I told my Mom I wanted a Corvette (the NEW 1963 models had just come out) and she said, "Those are expensive, you might have to wait until you are 30 to get a car like that." I remember telling her, "Well, I would be so old then I couldn't enjoy it!"

Well, I'm almost 60 years old now, but I can promise you, each modification I make to this car is just as sweet as if I were fifteen.

So, hang in there, keep adding a bit at a time, shop smart, and you'll get there before you know it.

Good luck,
Jim

I've run 11s on slicks, run solid mid 12s on drag radials.. aside from a rusting hatch, its clean as heck, only has 113k miles on it.. It's honestly right where I want it to be, for a 22 year old college kid its a helluva car... So I'm not complaining, I just happen to like everyone else's cars as much as my own

Now you got me wishing. If I'd had something that cool and that fast when I was 22 I probably wouldn't be here today. Where do you race in your part of NJ?

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

I'm a regular at atco raceway, a 1/4 mile drag strip that typically has a density altitude of about 500 feet below sea level (( Atco Raceway 2006 ))

I don't drive very aggressively on the street, maybe a little gas from a stoplight is all I was in a bad accident where some other people were racing, and my '02 GT got t-boned.. big wakeup call about safety on the street

no holds barred at the track though

Thanks, my car is a 99 Roush Stage II, so it is a Roush exhaust. I thought Dynomax made Roush exhausts, but my mufflers say Magnaflow. I need to replace it because I was come home from work one night and hit a dead animal in the road and it rapped around my left exhaust and ripped it off the hanger into my rear tire. I had an exhaust shop bend it back and rehang it but you can hear it leaking pretty bad now.
