Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

I have an 89 (carbed) 347 stroker, all msd, nos. Some of the goodies: pro-comp heads ,rev valve train, scoirpion rockers, crowler cam, full forged probe rotating essembly, edlebrock air gap intake, bbk long tube headers and 150 shot nos just naming a few. It has 120k on the car but the motor is still in break in, new PPG paint, 2003 cobra r's. Mustangs have always been my favoret cars. This is my fourth, first was an 83 gt second was a 84 t-top and third was a 95v6. Check out my pics if you can.

If you need help with the EFI I may be able to help my car was carb and I put the EFI on it it is a 1985. My friend just finished a TBI setup on his 63 nova with a half dozn.
you need the

upper lower intake (inj.+ lines )
the ecm
harness (cut out stuff that you dont need like smog)
sensors
in tank fuel pump or inline fuel pump (must be a EFI pump)
return fuel line back to tank (kit sold at jegs $39.99)
linkage (can just make it)
weld 02 sensor
distributer

Best to get a junker and just swap everything over you will save time and money as there are a lot of little things find one with a 5 speed a 66 with a 5 speed is hot! you can get a harness from summit but its $$$$ if you use the old harness just remeber use the relays
good luck

1995 Mustang GT Convetible. 5.0 Automatic, white with the black roof. Leather interior. Fairly stock with BBK Headers, Flowmasters and CAI (K&N). Just turned 100k and is in very good condition.

Needs a drivers side window motor (I think)...it just clicks a lot and will work but you have to help it up and down by hand. Tearing that apart tonight. Haven't had the car a week yet but really loving it. Getting new plugs, oil and filter and fuel filter today.

Let me know what you find out! I have the same issue, but with the passenger side window! Is it a motor starting to go bad or is it something electrical like high resistance??

94 gt. Has 5.0, car has original 59000. Auto( I hate). But cars like new. Started off with 20" wheels with Toyo proxes. New 900$ steal. Had to put spacers. ( wide) tokyco coil over suspension. Pypes mandrel bent 2.5 inch exhaust. BBK headers. Welded. Cold air intake. MSD wires/plugs. Dekka battery. Plus a kickass alpine stereo system, with Bluetooth. Need gears to help push the twenties, and a speedo gear. Screwed up my tranny. Plan to slap in a sweet auto tranny or switch to standard. I've looked into it a little, may not be worth a guys while.

I have a 91 Notchback, hence the screen name. I have a brand new 347 based on the new Boss 302 block w/ AFR 205 racing heads, 565/575 Comp Cam, JE 8.5:1 coated dish pistons, H-beam rods, all forged internals, Holley Systemax upper and lower intake, and last but not least a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger! Also have a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed going through an aluminum driveshaft back to 8.8in. rear end with 3.55 gears with 31 spline axles. Exhaust is 3-inch pipes all the way back from some long tube hooker headers, no cats and going through some 44 series Flowmaster mufflers!
Suspension wise I have QA1 coil overs, Koni shocks, tubular K-member, subframe connectors, pan hard bar, and torque arm. Also have the 5-lug conversion w/ cobra brakes with cobra R replica wheels covered in black chrome!

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

Hey Schlahty, I think your right about sharing parts! I thought about changing from the automatic to the manual but I called the local speed shop and was told that it would be better to get a trans. kit and that runs about $165.00 and the transmission shop can do the work of installing it while the car is on the rack. Shouldn't take more than a couple hours to do the work. Cost of about $300.00. I uploaded some pics but i'm not sure where they went to...lol If you want to send me your email i'll be happy to resend them right to you. I got the JBA headers put on a couple of weeks ago. The chrome wheels I had put on a couple of days ago. I'm fortunate , the mustang club I joined the president has an auto shop. I took the car over there and had him clean and paint the calipers. They turned out great! The stock preminum wheels were ok but the chrome really set it off nicely. I ordered my JET chip from the local speed shop and I recieved it within 2 days. I did try to find one online and alot of places showed them but no one actually had one in stock. Between the cold air intake, Jet chip, and the headers I got a nice boost in HP. You can really feel the difference. My next and final purchase will be for the ZEX nitros system. You get more bang for your buck with nitros and the club shop can refill it as necessary. I only live 6 miles from the shop.

Yeah, gonna do a shift kit. Dumped Lucas in and tranny feels nice, specially with my new 4.10 gears. May last a year or so. It drives Like the mustang I awlays wanted. Wonder if I could slap in a six speed automatic tranny in. Gas mileage is like 14. My car would be complete. Except for a future paint job of course.

Re: Share your car! year, mods, color, miles, etc..

I'd kinda like to have a 6 speed auto in my car too. For the same reason you do...lol MPG! I'm getting 16 mpg which is down from the 19 I got on the first tank of gas. Having to run preminum gas now to get the most out of the Jet chip. Gas in So. Calif is $3.58 a gallon for preminum. Glad the car has a small tank. What color are you planning on painting your car. I love that Ford Grabber Blue if it wasn't for the fact my paint is in great shape i'd consider repainting it. Oh where you able to view the car pics I uploaded?

93 5.0 LX conv. limited ed.

Hey I'm new on here and just picked up a 1993 5.0 LX in the white/white/white package. It's a bit of a work in progress, but I got it for a pretty good deal so I couldn't pass it up (plus, I have a soft spot for mustangs lol...this is my second 5.0, my first was a black POS-but-fun '89 5.0 LX conv). Sorry I don't have great pics yet. I found it for sale on the side of the highway near San Antonio. Body is very straight and paint is still in good condition. Interior is clean, but needs new upholstery and a shifter surround. This car has tons of documentation, which was kinda a selling point for me. Original window sticker, order sheet showing the special edition paperwork, etc. The car has been owned by an old man who towed it behind his RV, which is why you see the tow package in the pic from the day I bought it. It is an auto and feels much much slower than my previous '89 5.0 5-speed. Is this normal? I mean it won't even spin the tires...it feels like a tranny problem, the engine runs great.

Things I've done so far:
replaced the locked-up power lock actuators
replaced ignition switch (wasn't cutting power off when key was turned off)
removing the tow kit soon

Needs:
tranny work (possibly?)
new upholstery

Replaced the locked-up power lock actuators
replaced ignition switch (wasn't cutting power off when key was turned off)
removing the tow kit soon

needs:
New upholstery
new headlights (just to get rid of the yellowed look)
shifter surround

i'm not gonna do it guys.

I saw them. My cars red, imma keep her red, maybe different red. Probably won't beable to bolt up a six speed auto transmission. Who knows. I just need a little taller gears in my replacement tranny. I heard of a super overdrive tranny. Supposed to be better mph.
