Re: My new 90 notch

I can't really see in the picture, but it looks like the speedometer might go to a pretty high number. Is that an SSP Mustang, per chance?

Re: My new 90 notch

Plans are to stay naturally aspirated, do the normal bolt-ons, The car has 2.73 gears with a trak-lok, so those are definatley coming out in favor of 3.73's or 4.10's. I haven't decided yet. The car is a true LX...not a SSP, I've been able to get in touch with the original owner, who purchased the car new...(thank god for carfax!) The speedo goes to 140, but that's in Kilometer's (the car was sent to canada)

Re: My new 90 notch

3.73s are nice behind the t-5. 4.10s are a little steep.

Re: My new 90 notch

ok thanks for the advice on the gears....I do have some other questions and I figured I'd just keep this post going. I've searched for simple how-to's, ie engine stuff, and couldn't find anything. There are soooooooooo many posts about smog delete, ac delete egr. One that I was intrested in was the hot water lines that go to the intake? I think they run in conjunction with the egr? A guy at work was telling me about it, didn't really have time to explain it to me. Basically told me to block off the two lines. ANy light on this?
What about timeing? I haven't put a gun on the car yet, but what is it supposed to be? I had heard along time ago, some guys where bumping the timing up and gaining a little bit....true/false? Anything I can do to the car that doesn't cost anything? Tweeks basically?

For timing... I think around 10-12* is pretty normal. People will bump it to 16* or so. Listen for pinging if you do that, if you have detonation, start putting 91-93 octane fuel in it.
