Mega huge pictorial of my car past to present!

Well, it's been 2 1/2 years in progress and I'm pretty much done with the appearance aspect of the car. It's been a great time and I'm very happy with what I've accomplished as far as the look I was going for.

These first few pics are of the several steps it took to get to where it is now...

Oh, and yes, I went through the neons phase but they are off now.

More coming.

Re: Mega huge pictorial of my car past to present!

And now we have pics of the present. Finally someone that knows how to photograph Dark Shadow Grey-at dusky dark parts of the day. This is what I had hoped to do 2 1/2 years ago when my first mod was the rocker panel stripes.

These pics are just to prove I can pull off the "doors closed" look.
Oh, and my calipers are also painted a dark blue, it's just hard to see in the pics.

More coming.

looks great man... ever thought of a different hood though? I guess I'm just not a fan of the 01 Cobra hood.

Well that's it. It gets me kind of teary eyed to go from the first set of pics all the way through.

And Darn it, if you rushed through the pics, go back and look at them again!

WoW....

That is the sickest lookn car man. Couple questions...

-v6 auto? If this isnt correct ignore..... what made you put so much money into a v6 automatic?

-The pony on your stearing wheel and the mustang lettering infront of your passenger seat... are those inserts or ... just orginals in very nice condition..?

-What body kit might that be? Sorry, need to brush up on my body kit knowledge...

but over all man.. wow... holy ****... WOAH... OMG... UBER!!!!! :leghump1:

Re: Mega huge pictorial of my car past to present!

I saw how you said your car is done appearance-wise... just wondered if you had considered a different hood. I would totally jizm all over your car in person, don't think I'm hating on it. It's one hot *** car. I was just wondering if you had thought about a different hood. I don't know, the 01 Cobra hood is just kinda "blah"... (bland). They make an 03 Cobra hood that fits the v6/GT front bumper... would put your car way out there.

I put up a few more in the interior post, one of which is my dyno sheet. :worship:

Yes it is a v6 auto. Even with the complete cost of the turbo, the exterior and interior accessories/parts, etc, I think it JUST now became equal to the cost of what a brand new GT would have been when I was looking (including cost of the car itself).

And now, it's faster than modified GT's (there were Gt's spraying and running slicks, etc, that didn't have the ET or trap speed as my car).
And now, it looks better than a stock GT.
Plus, when I got the car, I was making $5.50 an hour and was 18 so insurance would have been worse than it already was. There was no way I could have afforded a GT, later I made much better money so I can fix up the car I already had and insurance doesn't go up because of the turbo and they know about it because it's covered under accessory insurance.

The steering wheel pony and dash lettering were hand painted by myself using a paint pen, done OCD style.

The body kit is made up of Roush stage 1 front bumper valance and rear spats. The side skirts are Saleen, and the side scoops are Stalker side scoops.

I thought about the Cobra heat extractor and if I were to get another hood, that's the one I would get. But I decided it wouldn't go with all the other lines I have going whereas the stock hood does just fine.

I think it would match your body lines very well...

Any specific paint pen? And what did you use to get it off if you messed up? I am thinking about doing this myself... it looks really good.

Re: Mega huge pictorial of my car past to present!

You can find them at Wal-Mart. Just pick a color and I used acetone to remove goof ups, but you have to make sure you get the acetone off the material quickly. I didn't leave it on for very long and it dries the vinyl badly. It takes a few coats, but you can restore the vinyl with a protectant and it's good as new. Just be careful the first time and you should be fine.

I guess I should make a how to on this.
