The newest Addition

Well here she is.... my newest addition. Sorry its a Chevrolet!!! I got a really good deal on it. Otherwise I would have gotton another mustang. My family flip out on me when they saw it was a Chevy and not a ford hahaha. I also got it so I could park my gas hog and save on gas a little plus save on putting mileage on the Stang. If anyone knows where I get get a decent deal on a set of rims and maybe some headlights and tailights let me know THANKS!!

Thing about dinosaurs are they were big and bad but they could not adapt, just like the F body. Fast yes but soon to be forgotten. In 10 years the last generation of them will be rarely seen as are Yugo's but the Mustang will continue and evolve

uh huh. i think they just took a break from slapping the mustangs around so ford could play catch up(SVT Cobra) before letting the camaro back into the game.

i think the last generation will be seen mainly on dragstrips, cause thats the only time i see them(LS/LT1's), cause thats all they were good for. theyre the DSM of the V8 world, fast for cheap.

Re: The newest Addition

if you wanted to save on gas you should have picked up a little 4 banger, the 3.8 ford/gm motors dont get great milage, barly better than the v8's.... my 01 v6 got 21-23 mpg my 03 cobra gets 19-20...

How were they slapping Mustangs around. On the track in stock trim they were faster but out of the showroom the were not even out of the gate. Ford sold over 150,000 Mustangs a year in the 90's thru 2002 while Camaro and Firebird together could barely sell 70,000. Speed alone is not a great selling point. Fit, Finish and styling is way more important and the F body was vacant in that department. As Camaro owners grew up they left the Camaro behind

Well I am going to say as long as Ford keeps making the Mustang bigger and less aerodynamic every year the V6 will not get much better mileage. Also the LFP (LEAD FOOT PHENOMENON) also plays a factor in the gas mileage

The fit and finish is just as good in my TA as any Mustang I've ever been in. Excluding the '05+s, I've been in alot of them, too. The biggest problem with the f-bodies in their final years is that they were priced out of their market segment.

You are correct but the buyers perception was otherwise. They remember the 80's rattle boxes and could not live past it.

Re: The newest Addition

its amazing how people forget about the turd mustangs that were produced right before 79 lol those fugly things... I think the fbody/mustang were both about equal in quality the downside was the fbody was a bit more expensive.. there were of course other factors... GM should have updated the looks far more than they did... they looked nearly the same from 93+

The whole world needs to forget the Mustang II. They were the main reason I was a Camaro fan. I loved roasting Mustang II's. They sucked beyond all beliefs.

^not a bad deal, but like spector said, i would have just bought a honda civic or something of the like for that price and gotten almost double the gas mileage

115,000 isnt bad at all, granted it is a lot, but if that car has been properly maintained ive seen many go over the 200,000 mark..

Re: The newest Addition

for gas mileage, id get a older CRX or a bike. the crx would be badass, cause its almost as small and nimble as the bike, and you can always do a motor swap and have just as good mileage and a car that has some decent get-up that would be great for freeway driving/commuting, compared to a stock civic or such.
