You just slowly go over them...and I scrape from my cats to my tail pipes on most speed bumps around here. They don't make them very tall, but they're like 3 feet across.

Re: For your Viewing Pleasure

I've never scraped my exhaust on anything, but I was coming home from work one night, and ran over either a dead cat or racoon in the road with my left front tire. It throw it back into my left exhaust pipe and it wrapped around it and ripped it off the hanger into the rear wheel. It suprised me that that little animal was able to do that when I was only going about 60 MPH.

side sills are far above the floorline. you mean side skirts?

and no, the only part of the exhaust thats low enough to scrape is the tips. the rest is tucked under the body just like the stock setup. more ground clearance than a actual roush setup. and the tips are welded on, not bolted like they are from roush where owners have lost/broken off tips cause one bolt cant hold them in place. these 170$ each suckers aint going nowhere.

side skirts/body kit is urethane and are meant to bend when struck.

its the front of the car that scrapes when i go over horribly engineered driveways into/out of parking lots, but most times i know which lots these are and avoid them entirely.

Re: For your Viewing Pleasure

yeah, some Gunmetal FR500's, 18x9 up front and 18x10 DD in rear with the spinner center caps were priced out with wheels and tires(around 1400$), and was the next mod.

but a 03 Redfire Cobra for 22k came along and my performance side of my brain said "dude, you bought a GT for $17k and basically riced it out, heres a terminator for $22k. i think you know what to do", so im basically done with project eleanor and will hand it down to the hands of another(hopefully) enthusiast to take over my vision.

i wont be sad really, i like to think of myself as a semi-Chip Foose, like, "so what, i got this car for 17k, threw 6k of body appearance and bolt ons, and im gonna give it to some kid and make his day for 15k". and everytime i see the New Edge Eleanor, ill know its 100% due to me and ill be filled with pride knowing someone will probably love the car as much as i do.

i love the GT, but ill kick myself in the nuts forever if i let this cobra go for 5k under what everyone else in cali is asking for ones in worse condition. as i was taking pictures of the car, something in the back of my head said "man, if i ever were to sell this for a cobra, these pics would be perfect sellers" and aint life great, here i am a week later.

Re: For your Viewing Pleasure

Smoked clear corners, 18x9 and 18x10 anthracite bullits, and a novi 2000 intercooled. Thet will put you up there with an 03 cobra and you will have a better looking car. For about the same price.

all that costs more than the difference between going from what i owe now to what i will owe with the cobra.

a novi wont put me with a cobra, itll be close, but no still stuck on a 2v motor. i might make what, 350whp with a SC setup, this guy made 423whp on a mustang dyno with the 3.1" pulley, its now at the 2.93" Pulley, so its easily sitting at 440whp.

plus my payments will be 100$ more a month(big deal), for a car that is worth more and has less miles(i have 85k on the GT, the cobra has 50k), and that will get paid off faster(5 years as opposed to the 6 years i still have on the stang) with a lower interest rate. its just a smarter decision.

besides, maybe later down the road you will see a Ellie2. i sure in the hell hated the paint job the shop did and in a few years who knows, maybe ill replicate the look on the cobra and do it right and do it myself. or maybe ill do something entirely different (like black or silver stripes on top of redfire).

you'd make more money if you parted everything out and sold it seperately

well the body kit and panels are stuck to the car.

all the mods(intake, diablo tuner) are in the classified section on here.

and yes, im the poster child for parting out and selling things as stock as possible. i got 2,500$ for all the mods on the dsm. selling a stock car is easier than a modded one, and i usually tell people not to buy a modded car, as you are inheriting someone elses mistakes, so im actually going against my word, but i think that since this guys cobra is setup just like how i would, and its done right(there were no zip ties/tape holding things on, and aside from lack of the belt guard cause of the 100mm pulleys, looked stock), but i think it will be fine. plus im getting ALL of the stock stuff, plus a few of his other pullies(stock pulley and 2 other sizes, plus the 2.93 thats on the car).

only sucky part is i might have to bite the bullet and sell the GT for 14,000$, even with the exterior looking hawt, nobody has even called at 16K, so i might not get as much as i hoped out of it.

Re: For your Viewing Pleasure

I would do some research and get a carfax along with a full print out from ford if possible to make sure of any issues it has had or had not had.

carfax turned out clean. i had a guy on another site run it, he is the original owner and bought the car from San Jose Ford(one of the few SVT capible dealerships in cali). besides, finding the issues(if any) is what makes buying used cars fun!

im getting really pissed at my bank though, theyre taking their sweet *** time getting the loan docs together and ready. maybe its just the loan chick cause shes a ****tard, she actually said she needed the title and vehicle transfer form filled out before they cut the check. i was like "did you seriously just say that? that makes no sense whatsoever, nobody in their right mind would sign over the title and transfer form without the money in their hand". then the supervisor came over and agreed with me and was like "yeah, hes gonna need the check to get the title, cause thats how things go". i think im gonna call them right now. i need to get the car tonight because i need to register it tomorrow(friday) cause friday night ill be at a concert (doobie brothers w00t) and saturday is track day. i want my first memories of the cobra to be a 12 second slip. though i doubt im a 12 second driver, so itll prolly be like mid 13's. then again, its test and tune, so ill be doing quite a few runs(prolly 15 beofre i get bored)

i woudlve thought at those power levels, with street tires, they wouldnt provide enough traction during a launch to snap a shaft. figuring itll just smoke tires if anything. ill have to revert to fwd launches, launch easy, get moving then go balls to the wall.
