Thumbs up Painted my headlights

Welp I finally got up the balls to try it lol. Let me say this it was a PITA!! It took about 6 hours total. 3 hours just to get the damn headlights apart 30 minutes to tape it off then 2 minutes to paint and then the rest was drying time. Anyway I only had time to do the headlights. Next sunday I plan on doing the corners and nite shading my stock tails.

These are the only pics that turned out good.

As requested a stock picture:

It took me a while before I was like "screw it" you can ask Brent though, I had a hell of a time getting the one apart. It's a pretty simple way of pulling them apart its just getting them heated up right and pulling them apart before the glue gets hard again.

Re: Painted my headlights

Haha how did you heat it, I just tried that with my projectors, I ended up baking the light at 150 and it eventually popped free.

it all depends on what sealant you use.

on my buddies WRX, they use a silicon sealant, and you can do like 250* for 15 minutes and they will pry right off. my other buddies s-r-t-4 was an epoxy, and you had to stick them in at 400 for like a few minutes and gradually pry off the stuff before it hardened, and repeat. we gave up after a few tries.

aftermarket stuff is usually sealed with low-grade silicon, and has a low melting point.

Re: Painted my headlights

It was a real ***** getting the covers off but going all back together was the easiest part of course.
