Finally my COBRA SPOILER

Cobra spoiler $250
3rd brake light $100
Paint Spoiler $100
Body work/Paint on deck lid $200

$650! Someone please shoot me.

This may be the dumbest thing I've ever bought and may be the last thing I buy for my car if I keep this up.

Well you can see where my previous spoiler was and the 2 holes it left showing after the cobra spoiler was put on. I set it on temp for pics. Tomorrow my painter has to weld the holes in, do the body work and paint my trunk. I didnt know it was going to be this freakin hard to put a cobra spoiler on. Oh yeah dont mind the fog in the 3rd brake light I washed it this morning trying to get that crap off where my old spoiler was but it wouldnt come off. I'll just let him worry about it tomorrow.

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

Clay var your trunk and buff it, then get some nylon plugs painted red and put them in those holes.
Btw that is not the dumbest purchase you have made, it is a very good one. Those tail lights are the dumbest thing you ever bought.

All made out of fiberglass, yet they weigh 200 pounds or so more. A marvel in engineering.

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

spoiler looks nice, not diggin the taillights either

bbunt: and they keep getting heavier

foxes for me, alot easier to fix body panel wise..course we gotta worry about rust more so but I'll stick with metal. cars are supposed to be metal and not plastic right?

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

fox bodies are smaller cars in general if they were on the same proportions they would weight in about the same.

No...once the mod bug gets into your system, it never goes away. It's like syphalis (sp?) really...it may seem gone, but then it rears its ugly head again and again.

Looks good though. He will have to fill the holes with fiberglass or some other filler material as it is true, the decklid is not metal. It is just like the hood...some sort of fiberglass like material ... mixed with led, it seems, to try and get the most weight possible /sarcasm

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

ford bolts 200lb weights on each side rail on the frame. They did this on the newer stands to make the 05's seem more acceptable. Much like the way in 93 they under rated the hp so the 94 model seemed like you actually gained something.

if you only had nice looking tail lights the car would look much better. Dont listen to Zim he likes to PIITB and the ceiling cat has him on speed dial.

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

where does the weight come from... I know fox's sit lower by a good bit and they do not have nearly as much room inside.

I would guess in the frame / suspension / difference in 4 and 5 lugs, etc.

Its ok I get hated on everyday hahaha. Heres two hugs to cheer you up :threesome BTW I know the trunk isnt metal because of us drilling the holes to fit the new one on. I dont know why I said it was metal I just repeated what He told me he would have to do.

Am I going to have to splice the wires for the 3rd brake light?

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

its very easy to wire it up, basically you use a wire tester (cheap, little screw driver with a light bulb in it touch it to a hot wire and it lights up) and find the wires that are hot when the brake is pushed down.

When you find this wire run it to the brake lights power wire and run the ground wire into the ground wire thats on the stock hardness as well (cant test to find a ground wire but you can make sure its not a wire that carries power by checking the wire good.)

For the trunk light you can just cut the wires and splice them into the bulb... but you will have to cut the bulb off the stock unit.

Re: Finally my COBRA SPOILER

its very easy. use the tester to find the single wire that is only hot when you push the brakes in, label it as the brake light power.

You will find another wire that is only hot when trunk is open (the trunk light) label it.

you will find another wire that is for the ground usually black or green, probably black.

Run the power to the spoiler to the wire that is only hot when the brake is pushed down and run its ground wire to the ground wire you found, thats it.

Try riding in the back seat of an SN95, and tell me that a Fox has less room...
