Re: Couple of Screen Shots of Vista

I'll prolly get it when I get my new machine, only because Microripyouoffanywaytheycan won't make dx10 backward compatible with XP.

Re: Couple of Screen Shots of Vista

ooo nice, a wikipedia gadget. ill have to get that one.

as for vista taking a while to get used to... it took me about an hour to get completely comfortable with it. i could be mistaken though because this is the first laptop ive owned so that might have played a factor on the learning curve.

i still havent dug deep into folders yet. the layout just feels a bit different.. kinda like when XP came out and menus were laid out differently. i actually didnt like it at first. who likes change? things werent the same and i had to relearn some stuff. but as soon as you install it, you realize that its more clean, sleek and efficient than xp. stuff they changed in it just makes sense.

Re: Couple of Screen Shots of Vista

i thought id throw in some pics as well. the screenshot shows how the menus are a bit different from xp.

oh, and one of my favorite things about vista (seen in the one screenshot) is that you can put your mouse over minimized windows and preview what it is. lets say its a video... you can actually watched the video minimized.

this s96j laptop is by asus... it has a intel core duo 2.0GHz, 1GB ram, 80gb 7200 rpm hard drive, and a x1600. so far, i love it even though its specs are similar to my desktops. its light, battery lasts a while, big, moderate in power, and wasnt very expensive (1200 for a pretty decent laptop).

Re: Couple of Screen Shots of Vista

Nice heard a lot of good stuff about the dual core Intels. I got a Dual core AMD and love it. I'm running 2GB of ram though. Vista is a big resource hog with everything turned up.
