Cbad Cars Pics! 2-24-07 **56K Warning**

Pretty good turnout Saturday, not as big as last month (I think a lot of people were still afraid it would rain) but I would estimate about 70 cars, maybe a little more. Pretty different crowd this time around with the Japanese imports and all, but still a very fun time. I hope everyone can make it back out for next month, I am sure you wont be disappointed if you do. I have something planned that with the help of some people I spoke to today hopefully next months will be a little more special than normal. On to the pics!

Yes, the wide-bodied, custom termy front ended, useless roof scooped, quintuple hood pinned silver mustang.

Let me break it down for you, the car is hideous.

Damn that's impressive. It's sooo fast he needs air from his roof into his "cockpit"

holy cow I really wish people would stop assuming someone would spend tens of thousands of dollars on useless stuff just to look cool while driving on the streets just because that is what they would do themselves. I would expect it on import forums but would think that enthusiasts on Mustang forums would have enough knowledge to the contrary. This car is run in NASA American Iron, the wide body is needed to fit the 315s up front and the 345s in the back so that it can get traction at highspeeds around turns, the useless roof with scoop is a custom carbon fiber roof where the entire roof structure of the car was removed to reduce weight and wasn't needed because of the custom tubular frame and rollcage that replaced it. The scoop lets air in that is ducted into his helmet and suit to cool him in the car while racing since it gets incredibly hot in a race car, it saved him over 60lbs. Oh and btw this useless car puts down over 700 horses to the ground

Damn, just looked at the rest of the pictures and it is a nice setup. I didn't see the whole set before. I get used to seeing the riced out ones up here so I was quick to judge, I could post some things that would make you cringe and trust me, people do stupid things to domestics as well as imports.

Is this the guys first year in the AI Series or no? I don't see that car in the So-Cal list unless he made substantial changes this year. I saw a writeup on the series a year ago and sounded pretty interesting. Reminds me of the old trans am series almost

no worries, I know there are some horrible things done to stangs but I wouldnt consider a widebody kit to be one of them...lol, anyway I think it is his first year running American Iron but he has done road racing in the past. I drove this car to Knotts last year and it is bad ***!

You can change the angle of the front lip that way, adding or removing downforce as you see fit. Works just like an adjustable spoiler or wing and the adjustment is through the turnbuckle and you tighten (lift) or loosen (drop) the front through turning it

Re: Cbad Cars Pics! 2-24-07 **56K Warning**

yeah but there are no "Joints" in that splitter, so its either for re-inforcement at high speeds ( to keep the front from flexing so much at higher speeds it starts digging itself into the ground) or for allowing the struts themselves to flex the bumper to a desired angle just by using the bumpers ability to flex.

as long as all that **** actually does something, its cool. the second its another "wide body roof scoopin mad tyte dorifto" then its just another riced out stang. like i should talk though, i have a total of 5 useless scoops on my car.

+1 I have to apologize as well. I'm just used to someone throwing money at a car for a wish I was a SEMA car and thinking it'll be cool and different. I try to catch the American Iron series as much as I can. I would love to run it someday, just don't have the funding for another project.
