Thumbs up Rims are Here

They came in today. They are quite nice. One has a small nick along the edge but I am not going to wait another 2 weeks for a replacement. It isn't that bad and will buff out when I get some time.

They go on the car in the morning...and then Kyle will be getting my stockers installed on his car tomorrow afternoon.

New FR500 Rims

I will be taking a couple once they are mounted tomorrow and posting them up at work. Granted, they will be camera phone pics...but they will be a start since I can't get images off my camera at work.

And...you mean cut coupe springs right?

As soon as I find something to cut them with. I read someone cutting them with a circular saw having bought a metal cutting blade for it, but I couldn't find one anywhere.

So...now I am pinging a couple people to see if they have a recip saw as mine is broken...

If I can't find that...I am going to have to keep hunting for someone with a cutting wheel or something. The guy that gave me the springs is coming by tonight to pick up the islolators off of them since he is scaping so bad everywhere with his H&R race springs...so I will see if he has something.

Over all, I am hoping to maybe do them this weekend...or next week at the latest.

Re: Rims are Here

you can use a cut off wheel and it wont take very long. I cut lowflyn's springs very quickly with one.

Wheels look good, take a pic from the back angle as well to see how much they stick out of the back.

YEah, I just need to find someone with the tool. Cody is swamped and I don't want to get in the way of what he is doing to go over there.

They don't stick out of the rear fender. They are about 3/4" short of being flush with the rear fender which will be good when I lower it....no rolling of the fender for me. I do need the low profile IRS bolt though...unsprung, it will rip through the tire...so no dukes of hazard for me for a while.

Re: Rims are Here

I am anti-chrome and really would have been disappointed.

These pics are ok...but, the lighting wasn't great and it rained today so the car is off....they look really nice in person. Plus, I think I was drunk since they mostly came out blurry and unfocused.

Re: Rims are Here

yea they are freaking expensive... I want DD wheels so I can run a nice wide tire out back and I love the way they look so without spending a fortune it seems FR500s are about it other than played out bullits which dont look right to me on cobras anyway

Re: Rims are Here

They (Bullits) don't look right on any mustang...except the bullit....and that is only because it has the same name.

I can't stand them on the 02 GT outside...and can't wait to swing another set of rims and tires for it.

I am running the same tires I was on the stock rims...275/40/17 Nitto 555's up front...and 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's out back. The tires are only a couple months old with maybe 1000 miles on them...didn't see a need for an upgrade yet.
